Another reason why PS3 / blu must win this battle.
My sympathy. Lets hope this whole competition, does indeed find a cure..Sanford Doctors are saying they have fast forwarded the research a few years as of now. Numbers and ranks don't mean SH!T, fun to try for but not the ultimate goal. I've been to 3 wakes so far for cancer in my 27 years. 3 to many.

That is true, but you have to admit it is an ingenious way to get gamers involved and psyched about it. Personally, I'd do it even without the rankings, etc, but it does add an element of fun to it.

Thanks. That's what it looked like to me but I thought I'd ask if there was something I was missing.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to stop mine to check my Blade Runner BD anyway, so that works well.

Important:

Make sure you have completed your last unit before doing the update. I did the update in the middle of units on both of my ps3's. When the update completed I had to restart the unit. I am not sure if anyone else has had this experience. I have also lost units recently with the freezing of the screen saver and having to restart the PS3. Just a heads up.

I've been at number one for a while now with just mine and my sons PS3s doing the folding when were not playing rock band. But after Christmas there will be another processor to add to my folding. (PaulB404 is our folding id)

Smile folding@home question + reflexion

I did the update for f@h, we can now listen to music while folding (in game music?), decide to stop the PS3 when the simulation is finished or after a set time. I find these adds very nice and hope it will make people fold more.

Question : on the map, there are dark blue areas, light blue spots and yellow spots, are the light blue spots places where people are folding? If yes, I'm very surprised there are so many in India, which is a very poor country, but thakns to them for helping!

I just added my wife's PS3. Rack up another protein folding PS3!

BTW, this study does so much more than just "work on a cure for cancer". The shape a protein takes as it folds is what defines what that protein does (along with it's chemical composition...e.g. if a protein can latch onto two substances and help them bond atomically it will be an enzyme; if it lets light pass through it will be a crystalin, the protein in the lens of your eyes).

Better understanding protein folding is literally contributing to a better undestanding of life and how it works at the molecular level. Also, being able to use a computer to predict how a protein will fold before it's ever made in the lab will let medical researchers start tailoring specific antibodies to specific diseases, and vastly improve the scientific understanding of genomic disorders, and how to treat them.

I just joined this folding group, went to the webpage to see the official rank and it locked up on me after wait several minutes I forced a shut down and now F@H won't load I deleted it and am currently downloading F@H again, but under the F@H icon in the XMB is a corrupt data icon and I can't delete it... I hope the download overwrites this "corrupt data"

error 8001002A anyone know what that means? or how I can fix it?

1 wake is 1 wake to many. I know 1 PS3 isn't going to make much of difference but all of us together can and will make a difference. Cris mom (she would have been my mother in law) was one of the most beautiful ladies I had ever met and Cris and myself are committed to do everything we can in her honor.
