Yes!
Nice whoopin for what was probably the 2nd potentially strongest week of all year for HD DVD, with a very strong exclusive (Bourne), a strong Warner release with Exclusive HD DVD content/interractivity (HP), and a BOGO to boot to counter our own. - Zero- excuses this time for HD DVD (it was the BOGO for TF week), although I'm sure they'll find a way to spin it ![]() |

No, except for I think 2 weeks before we knew DV was actually giving us the real numbers Winn I believe got them before he closed it and used them as his guesses to see how long it would take to find out he was getting the actual numbers, but that doesn't happen anymore, DV is the only one that gives the actual number.

Correct and, every week, his GUESS closes out the contest --> he always put's in his guess at the contest's closing time which has been moved up the last 2 weeks from it's previous Wednesday's 11:59pm time down to Wednesday's 4:00pm. Last week, Winn guessed 71:29 and the actual was 76:24
The numbers are NOT out yet. P.S. Considering his stance, the longer the numbers stay un-leaked by DV, the better things are looking up for Blu-Ray this week. Last edited by unreal1080p; 12-19-2007 at 08:30 PM. |

Hi,
Quote "although I'm sure they'll find a way to spin it" I saw some of DV's posts on highdefdigest today and he was not very upbeat about HD DUD. He seemed to be trying to dish out some spin to prepare the HD DUD-ers with. For example he was saying Ebay represents the most accurate valuation of any product and DUDs sell there for about the same amount as Blu Ray do so,.. HD DUD doesn't seem doomed if you look at it that way. His a post from DV with the usual "well the numbers are pathetic anyway" type of spin... "The other sales that aren't doing very well are the TV-HD DVD and Blu-ray sets, which have been utterly pathetic. In fact, we won't see any more HBO sets for quite a while (I have been told by the studio) because sales on both HD DVD and BD were minuscule. Also, BSG Season 1 didn't sell very well and I'm curious to see how well Lost sold too" And here's the new Ebay proves HD DUD isn't doomed variety of spin... "What you say about eBay is a very good point. It is the best indicator of the "free market" that we have in the US IMO. Looking at HD DVD and BD titles there, they seem to go for about the same amount of money, so it seems that the general feeling in the marketplace is that one isn't "doomed for failure" in the eyes of what I would call the "average consumer"." ----Loving it,.. watching the DUD-ers realize thier mistake. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 12-19-2007 at 08:31 PM. |

I dont understand the worry. If Transformers couldnt do it no way in hell Bourne does it. No. Way. Period. (the end) It could be 51:49 Blu but no way HD DVD wins the week.

transformers was before sub $200 players. hd dvd has increased its install base by about 25% since T-formers and they were running a BOGO this week.

You could say the same thing about blu ray. PS3 sales have increased a lot lately as well as the recent price drop and we still have the residuals from the previous week. Wasn't Warner doing a bogo as well?

I got a strong feeling since DV is pro-DUD and these numbers are once again going to crush the DUD-ers,... We are acually not getting these till Friday this time.
That's ok,... I'm pretty sure Blu won now.. and that makes a full year. -Brian |

I think a win this week is bigger than last weeks. Since their are 3 big releases this week and all of them are available to hd-dvd and only 2 for blu. Plus the hd-dvd Bogos.
Oh and I am one of those new PS3 owners (as of Nov.23) and have purchased over 20 blu discs. ![]() |
