Complete is just a thicker blu-ray case so it can hold multiple discs. Seems about the same size as the Lost Season 3 case (without that cardboard cover that is).

I bought the complete collection, and the packaging is pretty decent...

All the packaging is is a standard size BD case in height but about 4 times as thick...

Inside the packaging is 5 discs...

Two of which are intentionally DVD's. They house documentaries and extras that are all in standard definition, so I assume in order to maintain a reasonable price, WB just used DVDs instead of BDs because they are cheaper.

So to answer your question it is not a mistake...

However, you get three discs full of movies on BD...

The final cut which is the official Scott directors cut comes on the first BD. The second BD houses the original theatrical presentation, the international presentation, and the original 92 directors cut. The third BD houses the working presentation....

The three BD discs are all in 1080p for the feature films...

All in all the complete edition packaging is nice and looks good in your collection. The briefcase while totally sweet looking, is just a little clumsy for me.

My only guess is because it's .ca

Quick question did your ultimate come with the letter from Ripley Scott or no?

If not I may have to get talked into trying to take a picture of that.

Not complaining or anything, but if Warner were BD-exclusive, they could have done all five movies on one BD-50 using seamless branching. All five will have lossless audio this way.

Maybe even fit all the extras on the same disc as well.

I hope beancounters inside Warner are paying attention to this kind of wastage forced on them by HD-DVD.

enjoy

Ahh, yes I agree. That would be pretty cool. Are there any bd's currently out that use seamless branching already? If not when could we expect to start seeing them?

Well Dude, Mystique posted a picture of his so I'd say his 0702 out of 2500 is substantiated.

You on the otherhand? Well, let me just say you can find all kinds of folks saying all kinds of things on the internet and you'd be a fool to believe them all.

Post a picture of that portion of your case -- if you can.

There are a few out there, but the most technically advanced should be Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Not only does it use seamless branching to present all three versions of the movie, it also has some options to turn on little icons to let you know when you go into a scene that only appears in a particular version and stuff like that. Very cool.

With the book and little poster that fit into the slightly larger than usual case, in my opinion it is the best package in HDM so far. (For my taste, Blade Runner and Harry Potter boxes are too damn big! )

enjoy

As you can see, I am definitely not the only one that has a limited edition out of a total of 103000. But, to please everybody, I will post a picture tonight when I am home from work.
