No insult to the PS3, but I have a DVDO VP50 and it displays what signal it is receiving bar none.
I should have a copy of T3 in a couple of days and will report back.

Shows up 1080i on my Ps3 60 as well. Looks all right though.

Yes the disc output on the PS3 is being sent as 1080i. If I manually force the PS3 to output 1080p only, the disc doesn't output a 1080p signal, but downconverted to 480p. So only if you have 1080i selected as an option the signal gets sent as 1080 and interlaced.

yea....see thats what i mean....i want it to be in 1080p....does warner know about this you think and if they do will they issue a replacement disc....and if anyone else out there has a diff player then the ps3 what does it output on those?

Can someone check and see if they can play it at 24fps? If so, its 1080p. If not, it might actually be 1080i!

all it says on my tv which is xbr4 is 1080i HD when other blu rays play at 1080p/24

What do you think guys... is this a problem with the disk as Warner has manufactured it or an issue related to the PS3? Would a firmware up-date resolve this?

see thats what i dont know....thats why i wanna know if other people with diff players besides the ps3 are having the same problems...that would really let us know

Guess what, guys,the movie IS in 1080i with my PS3. I just verified it with my Denon receiver, which can display signal information on screen. Here's the kicker, though: the IME version is in1080p! This is not an issue with the PS3; this is another in a growing line of Warner frak-ups of late.

Great. No 1080p and no DTS, PCM or DD HD lossless audio. Maybe warner should stay with HD DVD and reconfirm their vowes. This is starting to really suck. I'm already getting very tired of the lame sound tracks blu has to eat because of HD DVD.

Warner's fix will probably be for you to send your BD case back to them and they will replace it free of charge with a case that reads "Full 1080i".

its looks good and sounds good...but i have a 52 inch xbr 4 and the diff between 1080i and 1080p is noticeable to me

When I first got my bdp s1 it said 1080 i as well. I had to manually change the output via the menu of the player.

Thanks BD bro! Seriously, when Warner DOES drop HD DVD in the first quarter of 2008, all of this crap will disapear finally. We will get the PQ and SQ that BD deserves and is being delivered by all of our exclusive BD studios.
