Any news on Garden State? - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

Just wondering if someone could give me a good recomendation for this film? The Wife & I are both Zach Braff (AKA: Scrubs) and Natalie Portman fans. The Wife watched Garden State, and despite loving both stars, did not like the film. Tell me about it...

Just because it's a drama is no reason to determine it unworthy of an HD transfer. Much of the Criterion Collection is drama, and they've all made wonderful blus. Hell, the highest rated blu-ray transfer, according to this very site, is "The Sound Of Music." Not exactly 'action packed' in the conventional sense.

"Garden State" has some beautiful cinematography and art direction which would be stunning in 1080p, and the soundtrack is probably one of the best of the decade, and has potential to be great in lossless surround.

Mostly, it just kills me to see Sandra Bullock staring at me from the cover of the "Practical Magic" bluray every time I go to Frys. Just makes me want to punch in the face whomever is making these decisions.

Its very off-beat and witty. I was enamored with the dialogue, its not necessarily realistic - but theres a genuine quirkiness to it that makes it endearing. The characters are atypical - everyone is heavily flawed and the main characters ostracize themselves and live in their own world.

I have seen this countless times and I enjoy it the same way everytime. Its funny, heartfelt, and emotional.

Its not one I can recommend to everyone - since a lot of the people I have lent it to didn't like it. Its not the greatest, but theres some connection I have with it that makes it one of my favorites.

It's as realistic as it comes to me. I already posted about this before, but my dad and I had a similar relationship and he forced me to take lithium, so yea... pretty much on par with the entire movie.

I would recommend it to anyone, honestly. And if you're a Zach Braff/Natalie Portman fan, well this is a no-brainer then.

Nope. no updates at all.

Not even a region A release of the Studio Canal version.
