I have a ps3 as well and a sony home theater i have an hdmi cable from the ps3 to the home theater receiver then theres another hmdi port that goes from the home theater receiver to my tv.So chances are your theater receiver will more then one hdmi port mine has 3 or 4 one for tv,blu ray,satelite and another i believe too.so u should just need 2 hdmi cables,but like i said it depends on what your receiver looks like.if you only have one hdmi on your receiver you can use the digital optical connection from the ps3 to the surround sound. hope this helps(believe me i know its confusing i just bought mine) it gets easier once you get it out of the box to be honest.
