Has anybody had any dealings with this online relailer, interested in how fast orders are processed and shipped and if people get their Blu-ray preorders before the street date?

All my experiences have been good with this seller. Neither DVD.co.uk nor Base.com seem to appear on price comparison sites so sometimes you can get great deals that aren't published online.
Delivery has been good for me, one time I ordered on a Sunday evening and it came on the Tuesday. I can't however comment on pre-orders but they should arrive on the day or a couple of days before depending on how early you pre-ordered it. I hope this helps a little. ;o) |

Ive found that if you check all online prices then check DVD.CO.UK --they are usually cheaper.

I use their sister site 101cd.com. I have had no problems at all with them. I have ordered many items and even though I'm in Australia, it's never taken more than 7 days to arrive. The fastest delivery I've had is an item shipping in the UK on Friday and arriving here in Australia on Tuesday. 2 days international postage! Their prices are reasonable (shipping prices internationally are excellent). One order (Starship Troopers trilogy) was damaged when it arrived. Due to what would be expensive postage back to them, they sent a replacement and told me to keep the original delivered item (one disc of three was damaged).
They respond to emails, ship in stated timeframes an products arrive quickly. I can only assume that dvd.co.uk would operate in the same manner seeing as though they are both trading names for Online Commerce Ltd as per their terms and conditions page. |

They are much cheaper for us in Australia a lot of the time than Amazon UK for because they have cheaper shipping. |

Apologies for bringing up an old thread, but didn't want to start a new one.
Can anyone who has ordered from DVD.co.uk, or Base.co.uk of late, comment on what type of packaging they use? I haven't used them for a while, so can't remember whether they use a jiffy bag, or a type of cardboard box. There's a box set which I want to order from them, but don't want it getting damaged due to poor packaging. Thanks for any help. |

Find-DVD.co.uk use Base in their search engines but I haven't had the courage to use them. Shame....
find-dvd.co.uk.jpg I never trust the ones a lot cheaper than everyone else.... |

From an Australian's point of view, I have found them excellent to deal with. I've been using them for two years now and the service has been very good. The packaging on items sent to Australia is first-class. There has only been one time I haven't received an item and I notified them, and they sent another disc. They are sometimes cheaper on pricing than Amazon and that is when I do well, because their pricing on postage is only one pound 39, which is half that of Amazon.
I use both dvd.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk and have found them both good to deal with. It's always the lowest cost that determines which service I use. I can't agree with the comment "never trust the ones a lot cheaper". Lower pricing doesn't necessarily equate to poor product or inferior service. The only minor criticism I have about dvd.co.uk is that they are a bit slack in sending out pre-order items. Their stock inventory department is poorly set up in keeping track of pre-orders and they tend to forget about them. I've had to cancel pre-orders on two occasions weeks after the items were released, and then buy the discs normally. It was no big deal. But apart from that, everything else has been great. I woud have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Last edited by highdeffer; 02-05-2011 at 12:31 AM. |

At the moment I've only used ASDA, HMV, Play.com and Amazon to purchase DVD's or BD's on-line, I'm probably cutting off my nose to spite my face and missing out on great deals but there are so many on-line stores out there they're hard to keep up with. I'm glad people have had great results with DVD.co.uk and I'm really tempted by some of their offers. And I'm twice as glad we have forums like this were people can come in and recommend a site or dissuade you from an impulse buy that really is too good to be true and that crop up from time to time. |
