I'll be getting it for sure. My favorite Eastwood movie still, and I absolutely loved it growing up.

Bye the way has anyone ever seen the made for TV sequel Return of Josey Wales with Michael Parks playing the title role? I am curious how horrible it may be or if it was actually a decent story...........

There's no hatred. Those who want digibooks should have their digibooks. But those who simply want the movie in a standard Blu case should have that as well. There's never a disadvantage to the consumer having options.

Another one to add to my growing library of Digibooks. And a great Clint Eastwood movie as well: The Outlaw Josey Wales. I am glad the studios consider their important films be released as Digibooks first and are now offering regular Blu-Ray cases as second releases. Not so much hatred??

The studios just love customers like you! The films themselves mean nothing to the suits, the digibook is just another way to get more money out of you. If you prefer the digibook I'm glad it's available to you. But I see nothing wrong with a simultaneous digibook & standard case release.

Just hope the PQ is better than Pale Rider. Would love to see the same quality as the Searchers got.

I own this on DVD and it is one of my favorite Westerns. I too love Pale Rider are did not purchase it because of the transfer quality. I still do love them on DVD anyhow.

Two nights ago I was watching my DVD of Josey Wales and telling my wife I wish they would get this thing out on BD and behold.

Digi book or not, extras or not, if this thing came in a crackerjack box, I wouldn't care, this BD is mine!!! This is clearly the best movie EVER........"Mans gotta make a livin' Wales"......."Dying ain't much of a livin' boy".........."I reckon so"

From McCrutchy

Truly a Parental Guidance -rated film...

WTF? There is nothing about this 1976 movie that warrants a PG rating.

Unfortunately that shot of Sondra Locke's bare butt put it out of contention for the "G" they were hoping for!

I haven't seen the Pale Rider Blu, but The Searchers was among the very first batch of Blu-Rays I bought. It's both one of my top 3 John Wayne films, and it was only $8, so I got it just to test for myself how much better Blu-Ray was supposed to be over DVD. I had bought The Searchers twice before on DVD, once in the original snapcase, and again when the 2-Disc Anniversary Edition was released. Needless to say, I was stunned by the brilliant clarity and fine detail on the Blu. I seriously hope Josey Wales gets the same treatment!

Bare butt AND breast shot, hence your P and your G

But you have seen Pale Rider haven't you? The bluray isn't bad IMO, I still love it.

Three most favorite; Outlaw J.W., Heartbreak Ridge and Pale Rider.
