and my point, exactly, is that it doesn't freaking matter. Apologies if I've singled you out unfairly. I'm just sooooooo tired of people drawing conclusions regarding likely overall sales ratio based on Amazon data. That theory has been proven fallacious over and over again. In fact, r-dudjam has repeatedly made a fool of himself doing exactly this.

I like to read posts dont get me wrong but wouldnt it be nice to just have to look at the front paige to see the weekly numbers if your in a hurry instead of having to go through a ton of posts to find them. Again, Im not complaining just making a suggestion.
First post of this thread has all the numbers.

3rd Rock from the Sun
Exclamation Home Media Magazine --> New link to use --> Dec 30th

Forget about the Sunday December 23rd 2007 Edition of Home Media Magazine as there most likely will NEVER be one.

All you have to do is look to the past to predict the future. This is the archive link to the Home Media Magazines:

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/ind...d=digi_edition

As you can see, in 2006, they skipped a whole week during the holidays and it went from Sunday December 17th 2006 straight to Sunday December 31st 2006. There NEVER was a Sunday December 24th edition last year.

If you want to check for the latest edidtion, you should be using the December 30th 2007 link:

http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/ques...3007/index.php

Since the HDM "pie charts" only started with the Sunday April 15th 2007 edition of the magazine, there is no way to "predict" if they are going to give us only 1 or 2 pie charts or if a single one will combine both week's numbers together.

One way or the other, we should have a leak for last week's numbers by Friday on AVS from Winn's new "confidential" source.

Your not totally correct. Most of the time the Amazon numbers show Blu kicking ass, and blu HAS kicked ass all year. So most of the time the Amazon numbers are in the realm of being correct just not all of the time.

It is Chicken Little because we've heard the same garbage for a year straight, despite all of the evidence that reality has given us, and it hasn't once been accurate.

I've been one to not lend much credence to the theory that there are a lot of copies of Planet Earth on HD DVD being bought incorrectly, but I just saw 2 listings on the San Diego craigslist for people selling it because it won't play on their DVD player.

Grow up people. Businesses do not make decisions overnight based on one sale or some other bullsh!t. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if you need constant reassurance with regard to this format war, then you have no business being in it at this stage in the game.

I truly believe that within the next 2-4 months, clarity will be provided...
Very well said my friend!

i went shopping last week and at my best buy blu-ray players were completely sold out. my circuit city on had 3 left. there must have been 2 dozen hd dvd players sitting there between the two stores.

it appears if hardware SAL wise, blu-ray is beginning to take over. on top of ps3 sales, hd dvd can't possibly catch up.

Every Insider both on and off the record has said that Disney is as committed to bluray as anybody could possibly be.

Disney going neutral is not going to happen. This is classic FUD.

Remember, it is only the first four Harry Potters. And I think you're assuming far more volume for Amazon that really occurs.

People have been predicting a loss for Blu-ray every week this month. What people fail to remember is that the lead isn't due to fanboy purchases, it's due to general purchasing. And most of that does NOT happen for Blu-ray at Amazon.com.

There's no reason to believe that all those old and new PS/3 and standalone Blu-ray owners suddenly stopped going to B&M, and didn't buy cheap Blu-rays at after-Xmas sales. And it those B&M sales that ALWAYS dominate the Nielsen's.

People keep looking at Amazon as some gauge of the overall market, and it always fails to measure up.

I couldn't help but chuckle at how the fanbois are going to spin something like this! "I was at my local ***** and there were no blu-ray players for sale, only HD DVDs!" LMAO, man I wish I could be that ignorant, if ignorance is truly bliss. But I doubt that it is, they all seem to be some very bitter and unhappy little people in the red camp...
