Maybe I just got lucky or something. But my Samsung 1200 plays all the movies sofar. I just watch awe, lfodh and rush hour 3. It does take about a min or two to load up but after that not a problem. I was thinking about taking it back to CC. I got the replacement plan when I bought it. And according to the sales rep there I can exchange it for another blu-ray player of equal or lesser value. and I got it when the player first came out. anybody else get the replacement plan from CC when they bought their Blu-ray player there?

Glad you are having success. Might still be worth returning for a different player with a strong reputation incase you DO start having trouble with future releases. Honestly, if you still have the option, I would take it back. This also sends a strong message to Samsung and any other manufacturer who might produce such a dicey player. If I was a new HD Blu-ray adaptor and purchased a Samsung unit with all these problems, I would not be too happy and the BD HD market does not need something like this going on at such a pivitol point in HD movie history. Samsung really gives the one and only Black eye to blu-ray.

Yes it will play Pirates 3:Awe. I just got done watching it. The only problem I have is the very long load times. Man I forgot how long the movie was but its still a great movie.

what firmware????

The newest that fixed the problems with the New Fox title (28week/days later & the day after tomorrow) & also fixed the DejaVu problem

I tried for the 1st time today, I clicked on Play, then the 2 options go away & the talking skull just sit there, but I did not leave it on that long (maybe 30 sec), there was no indication that it was loading.

I returned my 1200 and got a 1400. The 1400 fixes issues that the 1200 had, but there are still some glitches in the 1400. The only glitch I have is that the player will randomly just stop and got to the Samsung splash screen. I start and it picks up where it left off... not bad.

Funny thing is, those of you who spout off about Sony and Panasonic not having issues are quite incorrect. It would behoove all of you to go to their public forums and read some of the pros and cons about their issues. This is not a brand specific issue. This has to do with a new product, the coding of software and the way the movie industry creates their product. It will all catch up soon.

When did you get your player, and have you ever updated the firmware? If you have, when did you update it?

From what I understand, it does seem that the firmware update from this past October that was meant to update the machine for Fox's new BD+ copy protection caused some problems with the machine which results in it not working with some other disc, like Pirates 3, which it would work with if that firmware update had never even occurred. Of course, this would then mean that you can't play and of the Fox BD+ discs. So, you're trading off one problem for another.

This movie plays by putting in another bluray 1st, then ejecting and loading this movie.... which is not acceptable. but for the time bieing the only way to play it on this brick.
