Default Which Sony 1080p 46inch TV?

I am trying to decide between these 3 46 inch Sony 1080p televisions: KDL46w3000, KDL46v3000, and KDL46v2500. Money isn't that much of a decider are all are in the $1700-$2200 range. Can anyone recommend one over the other or know anything about these 3 televisions? Thanks.

What are the differences between them as you know them?

The KDL46w3000 & KDL46v3000 are 24 fps, the KDL46v2500 is not. They are all good TVs though. I would want the 24 fps looking back though.

What's the difference between the W and V series? I know they both looked fantastic when I was in BB, but I opted for the XBR4. My wife said cool so I couldn't resist..

Major differences...

W series has 3 hdmi inputs, supports deep color, allows x.v. color input, has a backlit remote

you can compare the two (or more if you want) at sony.com

I've been comparing them online and in the stores for over a month now, just wanted to get some input and see if anyone out there has one or the other and see what they think.

I love the idea of the 3 HDMI, that part stood out but I knew it wasn't going to be the be all end all.

Are you recommending the W series out of these 3?

Sony uses the Alpha number for different models to indicate higher quality.

S- Is the low end model - The LCD has larger pixels and the lesser Bravia engine

V-Is a step up with a better LCD screen but usually the same Bravia engine

W-Is a the better LCD screen and XBR engine

XBR is their top of the line, currently XBR4 & XBR5 they have the higher pixel court per inch, and the Bravia PRO Engine.

In a Nut Shell, the W line is an XBR without the XBR frame! It is most bang for the bucks!

I have an XBR2 40" myself! Hopes this helps!

Oh I see. In that case, whoever started the thread might want to go with the W series if Price is not restrictive. I think that you'll wonder how much better the other TV would be if you get the lower model. Just My Opinion...

I have the 46-v3000 and I love it. I couldn't ask for a better picture, then again, I would say the same if I could have afforded the w series...or the XBR series....

If you cant tell the difference in viewing them, I would go with the lower priced one and use the $ difference to up your blu library....nothing wrong with that.

According to sony's site, the v and w series use the same Bravia EX engine.

It couldn't be considered an XBR4 or 5 without the frame as they (XBR4/5) support 120hz.

I've seen the v-3000 in Best Buy and at the local Dell kiosk and i thought the 1080 picture was unreal. Its between that and the w3000 for me at this point.

So you haven't seen the W I presume? If that is the case and you're happy with the picture on the V series, just go with what your gut tells you. That is probably what you should do anyways as listening to what other people think is not going to happen if your mind is telling you different.

Actually I've seen them both in action but to be honest I don't always feel seeing them in the stores is the best judge with picture, they all look fairly similar on the wall. When I saw the v2500 at the Dell kiosk all by itself it looked great. I do like the 3HDMI though since I will probably have it hooked up to cable/BD player and probably PS3.

I have a v2500 and love it, I would want the 24fps myself though. I would do the v3000 or w3000. They are both nice tvs and you won't be dissapointed

The 65f is a great tv and so is the 69 and 71f. Of course the latter two are also much more expensive(a la xbr4). I'm not sure what most of their middle ground tv's are like, but to be honest i've seen them in best buy and they look great. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I, too, had the same dilemma as the OP.

I was set on buying either the V3000 or the W3000. At the end, I ended up with the Samsung 6571. In my opinion, it is better than both the V and W and on par with Sony's XBR at a fraction of the price ($1999 at Amazon). Really fantastic picture quality.

For 1500 you cannot beat the v3000 though...

The best price I've seen is $1699, where is it for $1500?
