A confirmed fence sitter no more! - Blu-ray Forum

A couple more wins for Blu today. I finally convinced a confirmed fence sitter buddy of mine at work to buy a blu-ray player which he did over the holidays. He has already purchased about seven titles and just loves it. I picked up the RE trilogy today and had it out on my desk at work. A guy walked by and asked me what this was. Told him all about BD and turns out his son owns a PS3. He had no idea he could play BD movies on this. So now he said he is going to BB and start purchasing some titles! I'm very excited when I discuss Blu-ray with others and I think that is somewhat infectious. My "Fence Sitter" buddy in the past had absolutely no intension of buying into either format what so ever "until this all got staightened out!" I turned him and he is just going nuts like I did with the stunning PQ and SQ. (Yup, he's hooked!) He is going out to get "Cars" tomorrow. A nice start to the Blu-year.

congrats. I just about got my buddy there. He is convinced he wants blu, just doesn't have the dough to dish out yet.

I turned someone BLU a couple of weeks ago. They have a Toshiba TV and planned on HD-DVD from the beginning, that's until they learned of studio support and technological advancements. I have been talking up everyone that will listen at work.

look at cases next time youre at a major retailer. been using those stickers for awhile

Told my brother in law and one of my employees that the PS3 plays movies. They both went on Amazon today and made some purchases.

Awesome! What would be a better strategy than putting this info in small print on a sticker on the BD movies themselves is to have that info sent out to all PS3 owners by mail from Sony, or advertise it on commercials when they advertise BD HD movies on TV. I find it amazing how many PS3 owners don't seem to realise this at the moment. Sony has an untapped resource already out there just waiting for the info to be told.

i've convinced 4 of my best frnds to buy blu-ray and when eva they come ova i always put on a BD movie
although 3 of them havent made the move yet but they will buy a PS3 once MGS comes out

it still amazes me that so many PS3 owners still have no idea that it plays
blu-rays? Almost sad, so mis-informed. I am glad everyone is spreading the word, all it can do is make people buy more BD's

I brought on 2 new PS3 owners at x-mas time. One has bought 6 movies + HP disk set, and the other bought 16

from the Amazon BOGO today... add my December purchases of 26 (plus 5 freebies) + 4 shipping today from amazon.... i feel i've done my part for atleast 1 month.... BDA wants all my money....

A woman at work today was talking to others how she picked up a PS3 over the holidays for her an her husband (no kids). She was telling people how it was more than a game player as you could play Blu-ray's on it. I smiled. Great when they don't know who is sitting in their midst.
