I have pics of when my first one arrived in one of my Galleries (HERE, top few pics). Yes, their Finish is Gorgeous (beautiful Piano Black!), & their customer service is extremely fast in replying to any questions you may have.

Per UPS my PA-150 is out for delivery this morning....

I love my wife. I causally mentioned to her that I ordered another subwoofer for the soon to be finished media room in the basement. Her reply:

"You already have a subwoofer, right? That big black box?"

I said:

"Yeah, but the room is bigger than the last media room, so I needed two"

She said:

"Oh. Guess I can get that new summer purse I have been wanting"

My reply:

"Absolutely.... You deserve it"

Marriage is all about compromise..

Not looking forward to carrying this box into the house and unpacking it. Very close in size and weight to the A2-300 and that thing is a beast for 1 person...

Will let you guys know after I get it hooked up later today/tonight. Not sure how loud I can go with it with the wife and kids in the house and my A2-300 is in storage in the basement while the media room is getting finished.

Awesome news - It's prob. too late now, but hopefully you had a friend or neighbor around (a $20 will do wonders! )

Look forward to your review & of course, some nice PHOTOS!

The only movie I had time to throw in was Kung Fu Panda on Blu-Ray. There are several scenes in that movie with some very good bass and I have watched this movie several times with my son with the A2-300. So out of the box in a not so very friendly room (media room will have drapes, accoustic panels at reflection points, etc) I have to say I am impressed. Just going off memory I don't think the PA-150 extends as cleanly, or as deep, as the A2-300 (however the room may have a big effect on this) but the midbass seems to be more pronounced. I think the two subs will play nicely together, and I will add more polyfill as well.

With the kids sleeping just above the livingroom (media room will be in the basement with some soundproofing) I can not really push the sub as the kids are in bed by 8pm. So as soon as I can catch some time alone I will put the PA-150 through some more rigorous tests (hopefully side by side with the A2-300) and report back. I will get the old SPL meter out as well (it is somewhere still packed in a box from the move).

On Blu I plan on testing Tron Legacy, Master and Commander, Iron Man 2, Transformers, etc. Will try to give it a good workout when I can in the upcoming weeks. Hoping to have the media room/basement finished sometime this summer (probably closer to August) and then I can really crank it with my new mains, A2-300, new Denon receiver, etc.

Yea, more polyfill, the room treatments, drapes, etc., they'll ALL Have a definite impact on the way BOTH Subs "play" together. You could have just FF'd to the infamous "Skiiiii-Dooosshh!" scene for "Panda."

Yeah, well I ended up lugging this beast from the front porch to the livingroom by myself and this thing is a beast. UPS says 76lbs, but the specs on the box say 86lbs. I think the box is closer to correct

The PA-150 was not quite as large as the A2-300 (it is taller, but not as long), but it is about the same weight. Very impressed with the fit and finish. The sub was double boxed, had plenty of styrofoam, had a nice cotton sock like cover, and the glossy black top had plastic protecting it. Much better than the A2-300. Top marks on quality.

So far I am liking it

Actually did not make it that far into the movie, but I am going to throw it in tomorrow after work. Love that scene!

Well you know it's near the End of the film (not sure which chapter exactly), & it'd be a nice little, "Okay, let's see what this thing can really do!", and/or the SONIC CANNONS campus shooutout from "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" - that's a nice long Low-End HUM that lasts a good few seconds also.

** I just received my TRON 2-movie collection today, so I'll try to watch it by Friday. I heard the LFE is Ungodly, as well as the Entire AUDIO Track (7.1 DTS-HD MA!!) itself, is said to kick some Major A$$!!! **

Hey there - what's goin' on buddy? In case you missed the review a week or so ago in my thread, have you seen or do you own "THE INCREDIBLES" ? Talk about a Superb all-the-way-through AUDIO Track, with some Very Nice LFE from beginning to end. Wow. IF you don't already own it, Buy It, Rent It, Steal It - do what you can to give it a whirl. So, in advance, You're Welcome!!

unfortunately,,, due to my dinosaur of a rcvr,,, it can't decide DTS-HD Audio... But from the sound I can tell that information is lost and I'm aware that it is awesome info.... The dvd plays the LFE very well and sounds better than the bluray but thay is only because of the audio format is easier on the rcvr..... Yes it sux... I need to upgrade to an HDMI rcvr... But Tron plays very well...can't imagine what I'm missing,,,

Don't know what your budget is but this site typically has good deals on refurbished Onkyo and Marantz receivers:
http://www.accessories4less.com/make...ceivers/1.html

You can find a good HD decording (TrueHD/DTS-MA) HDMI receivers for $150-300.

I assume above you meant to type "Decode", but hopefully you can get a proper up-to-date AVR & the link below has some nicely priced ones indeed!

Just an FYI, and this comes from Roger Dressler himself who works at Dolby Labs, the biggest jump in audio quality from DVD to Blu-Ray is 448kbps standard Dolby Digital (DD) to Blu-Ray DD which is 640kbps. Most movies on DVD using DTS were encoded at 754kbps and lossy on Blu-Ray (DTS Core) are 1500kbps. It is the biggest jump you will hear via a Blu-Ray disc. There is obviously a jump from lossy to lossless, which would require an HDMI capable receiver that has HD decoding, but it may not be as noticeable a jump for you.

Personally I can tell the difference between a lossy (640kpbs BD track and 1500kbps DTS track) and the lossless track on a BD disc (I have sampled the two on many movies back to back) and it is a nice little bump (although it really depends on the movie), but the bottomline is that you are still reaping a big benefit listening to BD movies via your PS3 and your receiver with a digital cable.

I have a question for you guys. So I have 1 PA-120 right now. I seem to have convinced my wife that we need a new rcvr. I have narrowed it down to a Onkyo 3008 (5008 if I have the xtra funds). Now, I definitely want at least 1 more PA-120. What are your thoughts on doing a triple PA-120 setup? Or would maybe going with a PA-150 work? Just tossing ideas...

Are you running duals now...or are you planning on buying two more... Or was the "doing triple PA-120 setup" a typo.....
I love my duals but wish I had a newer rcvr... Optical cable can only decode so much...maybe get rcvr then latet get second sub (or third?)

So why the new recv? I see you have the Yammy 663 - not happy with it? I have the same one - so that is why I'm asking.

As far as 3 subs, BigDaddy commented that they should be in pairs - so either go with 2 or 4 subs (and see his thread on sub placement).

Jaejw1: Yea I only have one now. So maybe I will just add one more then.

kurtlingle: Well for a few reasons. 1. being that I want something more powerful short of adding amps. 2. I want something that is 3-D capable because we plan on buying a new TV later this year (either a VT30 or a D7000 I hope). and 3. for Audessey MultiXT32, which from all accounts is amazing!
