I've watched the past month or so, and James has shown incredible range in the few songs I've seen him perform. He's a real showman too, always bringing out all the stops, and not to mention the emotion he shows is a real flashback to when people made music for the love and passion of it and not just the money. Haley is a stunningly beautiful and multi-talented woman, and leaves me in awe of her every performance. For my money if either James or Haley wins the show, it will be a success.

Jacob sounds like he needs to stay in the church he was raised in, and I just cannot understand all the undying praise from the "judges" which always leave me to shake my head and wonder just where is the actual judging. The only time you ever hear criticism is when week after week Randy rips on Haley, which is getting old, so it was nice to actually hear him offer her the praise she deserves. I cannot stand to see Scotty play the flute and make those really weird facial features while sounding like a carbon copy of all that is wrong with country music. What country has become should have died out faster than disco, but unfortunately people still support that crap and as long as they do, people like him will make millions off minimal to no talent.

As for voting, it's a joke. Am I the only one bothered when you hear numbers like 52 million people voted, when only 18 million watched the show? That is some SERIOUS voting manipulation going on!

It's not a talent show...it's a popularity contest... All the contestants can sing....just see who can grab more votes not based on their voice.

Not only that... it's a contest to see who is most popular amongst the tween girls who will call and text in votes for their chosen heart throbs for the entire allowed voting time. AI will never be a talent contest again until they limit the votes to one per caller or texter, but then Seacrest wouldn't be able to stand up there and talk about the record number of millions of votes they got. I'm stating it again... the winner this year will be the same as it has for the last several years. It will be the male singer who has most appealed to the tween girl segment. I have to say that last night everyone's first song was not very good. Very disappointed in James but he did redeem himself on that second song. Lauren and Haley both did better on their second songs too. I skipped Jacob and most of Scotty. Scotty isn't bad, I'm just not a huge country fan (I will listen to it from time to time).

Something does need to happen to the voting system. When most people are limited by 50 votes per phone line and 50 online votes but anyone with AT&T can text unlimited votes (I tested this theory as I have AT&T and texted 'vote' for Casey for a solid 2 hours the past few weeks which sadly didn't help) something is wrong. Everyone should really only get one vote no matter who your cellphone provider is.

I definitely think it will come down to Lauren and James. Last night James won the crowd over with his emotion but I honestly thought Lauren was the most consistent. I think Jacob will be the one on the chopping block tonight.

As far as vocals go last night it was in this order.

1. Haley's 2nd song
2. Haley's 1st song
3. Scotty's 1st song
4. Lauren's 1st song
5. Lauren's 2nd song
6. Jame's 2nd
7. Scotty's 2nd

9 & 10 Jacob.

I like Jame's and think he and Haley should be in the final but his vocals were all over the place last night. Lauren could be great but she is still too scared to go for those high notes and Unchained Melody proved that again last night.

Naw Haley killed both songs in my book. They just ripped her for singing a song no one knew. Haley is much better than Lauren. Got Em!!

You should agree with me Fully on all 10. I like James but he was off key last night badly on both songs. Scotty was off key on his second but his 1st was solid. Lauren was solid but no WOW factor. Jacob wouldn't have made it into the top 10 the way he sang last night.

The way the judges were calling Jacob one of the best singers in the competition then ragging on Haley for singing a little known Lady Gaga song was criminal. I also think Haley took something(Vicadin?) between her 1st and last performance to calm her nerves or something she just seemed a bit more happy and loopy than she did earlier.

I agree she is solid and very consistent which is good. However she is no Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson and they are who she is going to be competing with once she starts releasing albums. She may get there eventually as she matures but she's just not there yet.

Scotty and Haley were easily the best performers last night. They know who they are and what they could do. The others were trying way too hard to reach glory notes that they failed (especially Jacob, man, and that dance... that was pure desperation there). I cringed several times while the other three performed. Even James was uncharacteristically off last night. Lauren obviously has trouble reaching high notes yet she constantly tries to. The judges shouldn't pressure her to do something she can't. Jacob leaves tonight and the final four are legit.

The same can be said about James. Teen girls are only voting for him for his looks and not because of his singing. As a singer, he flat out sucks and the people voting for him and mindless idiots who know absolutely nothing about great singing!

James has definitely turned in some good performances imo...but his version of that 30 Seconds to Mars song was AWFUL last night.

Welp America didnt think she was the best as she was in the bottom 2 and was only saved because Jacob was terrible last night. She will most likely go home next week because Haley & James will be in the finale unless the conspiracy and what I already thought about Scotty continues and he gets more votes than he deserves. That was exactly my feeling as well. Lauren is so young and has absolutely no confidence that it shows week after week, she is afraid to let those vocals go allow herself to hit the notes she is probably capable of doing. Until she can learn to let go, she will never be as popular as she could be. Too much restraint based on fear. But thank god, Jacob is gone!! My ears felt like they where being raped by dying rabbits, and his clothing made my eyes feel like they were being assaulted in a dark alley by some kind of clown parade on acid.

To be fair, 30 Seconds to Mars and their got his ass kicked by Elijah Wood, emo cry baby lead singer Jared Leto is awful no matter what.
