Keep Lowry and his toys the heck away from any films that I love.
You realize that they just do what the studios want? They're not just handed the negatives and told "here it is, do as you please with it".

Based on the frowny face at the end of the post, pretty safe assumption that they got the same old disc. As did everyone, because this is just a repackage of the same old disc.

That new disc art on the back cover actually gave me hope that this might be a new release. Then I opened it and there was the same old disc. What a shitty release.

I wasn't aware that there was a BD with any special features. I am pretty sure I once rented a barebones version.

I likely won't buy this movie unless they release an Extended Edition, though (which they likely won't). I have a fanedit on DVD that reinstates the deleted scenes, and have come to prefer that version of the film.

It's not different from the first release or even the second release.

Just like the second Lenticular cover release, this Digibook houses the same disc as previously released many moons ago.

I just kept my old special edition DVD from 2001 and never bought any Blu-ray of Terminator.

I'll get the Digibook if the price drops, but it's not a title that's keeping me awake at night.

I found this Digibook on sale at my local Movie Stop for $15.99 so I picked it up. PQ is the same as the old BD but the didgibook sure looks real nice....

Cameron prefers the theatrical cut of the film. To be honest -- it flows as a PERFECT thriller. The added scenes are neat and tie the film well to the sequel but they do disrupt the pacing and ultimately aren't necessary to the film.

He states that they considered making an extended cut for "about a minute" before deciding it would be a mistake.

Terminator 2, Aliens, etc... those films benefit from the extended running time of their respective "special editions" but the scenes cut out of The Terminator really just don't fit. It's neat that you made your own edition though. It would be fun if they made an extended cut just for fans who are curious to see the bits added in here and there... but it doesn't sound like Cameron will end up doing that.

Then again, he said he'd never record a commentary track and he eventually changed his mind on that. Maybe in 2029 when we get a decent High-Def release of the film he'll agree to a "Special Edition" version...
