I do not know if Blu-ray's acceptance would do anything to help movie UMD's.

Last I heard there was a idea to start using some of the extra space on BD discs to include a PSP version of the movie.

Now that would be an extra worth having.

And how exactly would you put it in the PSP?

You beat me to it. And apple wants iPod versions of the movies included also.

The PSP idea is probably easier, though, as the PS3 could copy the file to a memorystick for playback on the PSP. Apple's idea will be contingent on people getting BD drives for PCs.

Well PSP's can play ipod video (as long as there isn't DRM) but since the PSP is widescreen, I would hope they stuck with its profile if only one file version was to be made available.

They just need to get 4gig pro duo memory cards down in price. I can't wait for another black friday to get one for $35.

I would buy a PSP again if they made a very drastic change to it - the BIG downfall too the PSP? No internal storage solution. Nothing. With the way things are getting smaller and smaller, it would be nice if they included something internal.

Without it, we are limited to storage cards and honestly, I don't want to own 30 different ones. Sorry. I also don't want to keep deleting and writing and so on so forth.

An even better solution?? Make a UMD storage device. Yeah - make writeable UMD's - would allow the storage of much more data.

Who knows.

Hmm ... Well if you have a PS3, hook it up via USB and copy to a memory card. My guess anyway.

Either that or send off for a free UMD of the movie you just bought. That would be good.

8gb not enough for you? for the time it came out, there was no way to include internal storage. even now, to get anything worthwhile inside it'll make the price of it double

Easy, have a mechanism in the player to bond to a PSP or iPod and have a unique key tagged to a smaller framed version of the film when the transfer is made that allows for play on the PSP/iPod.

I imagine the PS3, PC or any Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players would easily handle this.

The PSP already can be attached via its USB cable and with the inclusion of a card reader on many PS3s you could easily transfer it that way.

And the battery life disappears completely... Unforunately.

I expect they think most people interested would buy a PS/3 for it. They already link.

Your paying someone to download what you already can. That site is not legal, nor is the fact that they are taking your money. Don't fall for it. It's BS. It's just like Limewire, BitTorrent and the rest.

thanks. i found this out from another site too.
i really wish Sony made this easier and stuck to their plan of releasing their movie download service. now i am stuck having to buy them on ebay since no stores sell them, and they are not available for download.
