I love ZIM! One of my favorite animated shows!

Anyway, Yeah those bags could be a collectors item. One day someone might ask you what HD DVD is (or was).

Well, Fox really did pull one over on them, I think. (Warner may well have been in on the joke as well... not really sure on that.) They really believed that they were going to be able to purchase Fox's allegiance, and that Warner would then go HD DVD exclusive.

I don't claim to know what was really up with Fox... they may have been seriously considering the offer, though given their stance on BD+ and region-coding, I kinda doubt it. More likely, it seems to have been a trick play to make Toshiba and the HD DVD PRG think they were about to win. Whatever the case, it had a beneficial effect for Blu-ray. Toshiba thought they were going to shock the world, and become the comeback story of the decade, and so they didn't run any more crazy $99/$169 player sales in December. As a result, Blu-ray actually sold more players. The HD DVD PRG then setup a huge CES conference to announce their shocking victory... and then...

Fox walked. Warner walked. Blu-ray won. Toshiba was left without a plan B. Cue the fat woman.

If that (or some version thereof) is what really happened, that gives new meaning to the phrase "the gloves are coming off" from last summer's rhetoric.

The BDA really played them for the deluded fools that are!

I'm not surprised that they totally pulled out of CES. It says a lot by itself.

Going forward, if they don't just pull the plug on this farce called the format war, everyone will know that they're completely delusional.

Ya, me too.

I was hoping to hear what the HD DVD group had to say about the recent change of events.
