Warner has definitely improved the marketing for this film. I'm still not a fan of the way the CGI looks (especially the suit)...but I understand this has to be a CGI heavy comic adaptation. I'm still on the fence whether to see this in theaters or wait for blu blind buy.

If you want to see more movies based off DC Comics' characters, it would help to see it in theaters the first week or two. That figure is more important to a studio than some BD sale months down the line.

Warner Bros. will get 85% of the gross box office revenue from the first weekend, that is just how it works in Hollywood. A big weekend could mean an immediate greenlight for the sequel and possible movement on a JLA or Flash movie.

That is the main reason why I want this movie to be good/do well. I of course would like to enjoy another superhero movie and I like GL, but this is the first 'second tier' character movie DC is doing in the modern age of superhero movies. If it does poorly, we might only get Batman and Superman movies for the next decade.

I am glad that so many people are excited for this and think it looks good.

Saw he new trailer. I have to say, sometimes with a comic book u can explain too much. No matter how he explains ...the ultimate force in the universe, the emerald power of will... it just sounds really silly. I'm for less exposition and less using the ring to make complicated machines ... machine guns??? Simple ring manifestations r better for this old school GL fan.

Simple ring constructs? Like a baseball bat or a boxing glove? You're really going to defeat Parallax with something like that. Time for an old school fan to get with the times, the power of Hal's ring has evolved quite a bit recently. It's about time too, one of the most powerful weapons in the universe should be portrayed accordingly.

I don't understand people. First they complain that they have no clue what the film is about, and then they complain when it is explained to them. Some people just love to complain. Life it too short to be complaining all the time.

Yep, I love to complain. What they r doing is talking me out of seeing a film that was absolutely a must see.

You're probably one of the ones that are mad because they didn't keep the white gloves. If you are truly a Green Lantern fan you'll go out and support it. They are being very loyal to the source material and as a GL fan of 32 years, I'm appreciative of that.

Dont care about the gloves or the mask. Not crazy about the cgi suit but I can live with it. Like the stuff they did with Oa and the members of the Lantern Corp altho they spent way too much doing it. Not crazy about Parallax and see no way than can tell that story here. As to the voice over, if they have to explain it, they did a lousy job scripting it.

What I support r well made movies. If this falls into that category then it will do well. If it turns out be incomprehensible crap, then it is gonna further undermine the DC live action film effort. They cant get WW on tv let alone a feature. Superman is coming off a lousy effort and the new idea doesnt look much better. Right now there is just Batman, which is the total antithesis of what they r trying to do with GL.

As a GL fan you would know that his suit is a ring construct, it's made of green energy. A fabric suit would not make sense and be comic inaccurate. Case in point, while reading No Fear someone mentioned something about his uniform and he said "It's not fabric."

You like the Justice League though which is why I'm surprised you think it looks silly. Yeah, there could be better choices than machine guns but I'll wait and see how it plays in the movie. I thought the same about Thor being silly and the movie was actually pretty interesting until he became Thor on Earth ant then it did seem really silly. GL doesn't appear that way to me and IMO the film looks epic. Had I not watched the Justice League though and watched the DC GL film I might think otherwise but thus far I think this one is going to do fairly well. For me this looks better than Thor, the X-Men, and Captain America. We'll see though in a matter of weeks.

Wow. I'm a big GL fan and didn't even notice the lack of white gloves, LOL. My biggest gripe with the costume is the mask/eyes. I think a physical mask with some CG enhancement would have worked a lot better, and either all white eyes or milky eyes without the pupils. But that's not keeping me from seeing the movie.

I still think Martin Campbell will turn in a quality film. I'm hesitant about Reynolds though. I like most of his movies, I just wish they would've saved him for The Flash and gotten somebody else for GL. I hope he nails it though. I really want to love this movie.

Agreed. Reynolds could've been Wally West and Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan. No idea as to who I would've chosen to be Barry Allen though. I'd've chosen Dennis Quaid to be Jay Garrick.
For all the Martin Campbells films I've seen, I've enjoyed the majority of them. This film is one of my very highly anticipated films this year.
Anyone have anymore images of the other members of the Corps from this film?

I would be in geek heaven. Also, if Fillion was Nathan Drake, instead of Mark (one of my favorites), I'd have a nerdgasm. But oh well. I'm just happy to see the characters on film.

I also have zero idea as to who I'd cast as John Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner. Or if I had a choice for Wally it'd be for Michael Rosenbaum to grow out his hair. INSTANT WALLY WEST.
What about Green Arrow? Some actor who can pull off a goatee. Again, no damn idea.

I agree about the practical mask and I would go so far as saying they should have done that with the suit as well, but what is done is done and we shall see how it turns out in just a couple weeks.

Ryan Reynolds seemingly would fit Wally West more naturally. As Reynolds stated, he was already going to play a wise cracking comic book character (Deadpool) and the opportunity for GL was becoming more and more a reality while The Flash movie wasn't picking up and speed.

You're only saying that because of that mockup "trailer" some fan cobbled together. If Nathan Fillion were any Green Lantern, he'd be a better fit for Guy Gardner.

What trailer? It's more based on he's more of a pilot from Firefly/Serenity compared to anything for my reasoning.

At this point, Barry Allen would likely be the main star of the first Flash movie. Wally's character would be saved for sequels, his story fits very nicely into a typical trilogy story arc.
