I don't take screenshots. That's what bluray.com is for. This site takes the best screenshots out of all the major home video websites. Just because you either don't care or just want to tow the studio line doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to weigh in with their thoughts.

Yeah, the image is sharper, isn't that what offers more detail? Plus the Universal one has about 5 more MBPS. Granted, it's because the Criterion has many more extras and they were out of space. It's really a tiny difference, but it is there. If Universal gave as much attention to the color scheme, it would have better picture all-round.

well the reviewer clearly doesn't seem to realize that Criterion re-issued Brazil in an anamorphic dvd edition so I'm not sure if his comments comparing the releases are very valid if he is only familiar with the earlier Criterion release.
(he refers to the Criterion dvd as non-anamorphic) not sure how he could have missed the current 16x9enhanced version. ![]() Criterion has already stated that they hope to release a bd of Brazil, and that version could certainly be better if they work with the same materials, but lay off the dnr button. hopefully we won't have to wait more than another year for a Criterion release. text describing Brazil dvd from the Criterion website-- DIRECTOR-APPROVED SPECIAL FEATURES All-new, restored high-definition anamorphic digital transfer, supervised and approved by director Terry Gilliam, with a remastered Dolby stereo surround soundtrack Audio commentary by Gilliam Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing PLUS: An essay by Jack Mathews .
