Part 4 has some cheesy moments, but it's very entertaining.
The dreams sequences are very cool and it is a very good sequel to Part 3.
It's probably my favorite after the first movie, followed by Part 3.

But, I've taken my decision and I'll wait for a future box-set. No way I'm selling my DVD Box-set for those editions. And I don't want to keep my DVDs and having just three movies of the franchise on Blu-rays...

The only ones I buy as a stand-alone is the 2010 Remake and Freddy vs. Jason.

I just think it comes across as being unintentionally funny, that's all.

First, YAY so glad this is finally coming out. It's been ridiculous waiting for them to get around to these films - day one preorder for me.

As to the bundling together, I don't mind when the films are together, and in order. If it were out of order (stranger things have happened) or unrelated films (I hated having Practical Magic and Witches of Eastwick on the same disc in the same case - just where do I alphabetize that? LOL) but for sequels and originals I don't mind.

I don't really care if they come in one case or two or if it has features that are already conveniently contained on a special features disc for ALL the movies - I just want a solid 1080p release. The original elm street blu-ray has that one special feature in 1080p with the clips from the sequels and they looked great in high definition.

Oh, and don't forget the popular 80's board game, "Probe", showing up...inside the closet.

(Though, to be fair, it also shows up prominently in a Facts of Life episode - I think set decorators got a kick out of it.)

x1000!!!

No extra the studio will ever pull out will come close to matching the sheer awesomeness as that 8 HOUR documentary. Yes, eight. Four hours of the documentary proper, then four hours of extra interviews and such wonderfully laid out. I've had mine since release - I even got the Heather Langenkamp signed poster.

BTW, Heather Langenkamp's own documentary, "I AM NANCY" was just released as well. If you order by June 30, Heather is still signing them all. http://www.iamnancy.net/

Between both of those discs, all I want from New Line are the theatrical trailers in HD. Everything else is chump change compared to both these lovingly compiled discs.

I too have the DVD set and am waiting for a Blu set.

This is one of the increasingly rare movie sets where the same studio owns all of them and can release such a set...

I'm waiting for a Nightmare Blu set... as well as a Friday the 13th 1-8 set. I own both of those DVD sets... so I can wait.

I love 2 & 3, so this is a definite purchase. I wont get any of the others though. Maybe if they do an 'extras packed' box set.

Imagine if they did a steelbook for 'each' film with theatrical poster art.

Yes!....The gay one and the cool one!

(They could have done a two-good-ones double feature with 3&4, but it would throw off the odd-numbered sequence, and who would buy #2 as a standalone?)

I'm sorry, I can't watch the movie after one critic reviewed Mark Patton's performance as "Mooning around the picture like Snoopy pretending to be the vulture".
I just can't not see it after that.

Never Sleep Again is up there with Empire of Dreams as one of the great movie-franchise retrospective documentaries. PERIOD.
Four hours, and packed with enough content that it almost feels like half an hour...You'll get through three before you even start to look at your watch.

(And yes, they go into extensive detail about HOW gay #2 was, but it's kept in balance with the rest of the documentary.)

Empire of Dreams sucked. Nothing "balanced" will ever come from Lucasfilm. You need a fans take to get something this invasive.

It won't be a crappy release because it's two flicks on a BD50. There are plenty of superb looking BD25 releases. It'll be crappy because it's Warner/New Line, undisputed king of the bit-starved, filtered VC-1 transfer. ...Then again I seem to ironically remember the original to be one of the better looking horror catalog releases out there, with a really healthy grain structure. So who knows.
