If I have any objections to the storyline, it's the (heavy spoiler) [Show spoiler] , which I found a lot harder to swallow than any of the other storyline elements because it's so out of character in both cases.

I found the Good power ups more helpful on Hard. Ice Jump, Freeze Rockets and Ice Shield were all pretty useful. Having Ionic Drain would be nice when you're lowing on health but I did fine without it. Ionic Freeze works like a charm as well.

Wife just got me Infamous 2 for Father's day
![]() Was hard to put down the controller last night, this game is even better than infamous 1, and I love the first one! My only (very small) problem is the absence of a "walking" mode. The GFX and environments are superb, I wish I could just take it slow sometimes instead of being on perma-run mode. |

Yeah, that helps tremendously. Even with that, I still had to do some UGC, muggings, etc. to buy the few items I didn't have enough XP for though. I just have one more power to purchase and I'll have everything. Guess I'll decide then whether to play it again on hard. I'm tempted to just to try to see the ending again. I thought both endings were really good and then with that song playing as the end/credits roll, it really adds to the impact. Last edited by owa; 06-20-2011 at 06:06 PM. |

I'm not sure if anyone still needs a hand getting XP to buy powers, but I just uploaded a quick and dirty UGC level I called "Fish in a barrel".
It starts you off on the roof of a building near a street corner, and there's a bunch of 1HP militia walled in with concrete walls. Just use your favorite area attack and wipe them all out for lots and lots of takedown/multi-takedown/wounded kill XP with zero danger. I earned about 10K XP just testing it a handful of times, so I know it works. ![]() P.S. Platinum acquired! ![]() |

If you know a person's PSN ID, you can log into your own PSN account, view http://www.infamousthegame.com and add missions to your game queue. Unless there's been an update I haven't noticed, you cannot properly filter missions while playing Infamous. Even by friends, which is absurd.

On second thought, I don't think you can search for PSN ID. That would make too much sense. You may have to sign in yourself, view your own profile, click the "By: (PSN ID)" link, and link that here.
I've already linked my own earlier in the thread, but as an example, http://www.infamousthegame.com/en_US...LfNnMgvalC9M0U |

Well, I started the "hard" play-through last night choosing to play the good side. I'm hoping this game might be my first platinum since that's the only trophy I'm missing.
On that note, I'm not sure I'll be able to complete it on "hard" though and there's one thing I don't like about that difficulty. I kind of think of Cole as a super-hero but he's anything but that when playing on hard. It's way to easy to die and with all these powers, I think I'd rather have a gun and their RPG since the militia seems to do so well with those. I've about completed the first island but struggled at times and frequently have to retreat to spread out the enemies quite a bit and even then, it seems like I always need to be behind cover. Not to mention, I'm playing in grey-scale frequently because of the increased damage I seem to suffer in this mode. I think the second island and all the ice guys may keep me from being able to complete it on hard but maybe I'll get lucky (or improve my tactics enough to finish it). To get where I'm coming from, I played both campaigns on "easy" initially and to me, that felt more "right" since Cole could withstand more and didn't need to hide behind cover as much. That is, I felt more like a bad-*ss. I played Infamouse 1 on "normal" and while I did okay for most of the game with that, a few of the boss type missions really gave me issues so I thought I'd go with easy this time. One thing makes more sense though, on easy I could get through a lot of it just using some form of the blast, melee and occasional cover (except for the larger enemies) but on hard, I'm definitely using the other powers a lot. I rarely used the vortex or some of the like powers but it has come in handy on hard, as well as the grenades, definitely using them a lot more. |

Prioritize getting the most useful powers as soon as possible, at the expense of other powers and upgrades. Remember that you're earning a LOT less XP (about 1/3 less) for everything you do, so you have to make some hard choices regarding what's essential, unless you're willing to grind a lot of XP by wandering around doing nothing. Also, take as many opportunities as you can to earn karma with side missions, and make sure to Arc Restrain enemies as you go for extra XP and karma. Getting the energy-recharge on Bolt Stream makes life a lot easier. Powers that served me well: Artillery Bolt -> Bolt Stream Upgrading your basic lightning is a huge priority for Good path, because you don't get the splash-shock effect that the Evil side gets. Bolt Stream is a wonderful long range spray-and-pray tool that can keep small clusters of enemies at bay without draining your energy cores. Sticky Grenade -> Cluster Grenade I found Ice Grenade to be largely a waste of time. Sticky Grenade did just as much damage and was easier to hit with since you could get bounce-sticks from walls or even the ground. Cluster Grenade is your go-do damage dealer towards the end of the game, and is by far your most efficient attack. Alpha Blast -> Graviton Blast Learn to love blasting guys off of rooftops and other high places. On Hard, you earn very little XP, but blasting guys off a rooftop with any blast power and killing them earns you a Takedown(+3), Enviro Kill (+7), and Watch Your Step (+11) for 21 points where you would normally only earn 3. Those extra points add up fast. Blasting away rockets and those annoying green heat-seeking missiles that Ravagers and some bosses use is crucial as well, so don't forget about this power. The rocket powers weren't really anything to write home about, except for the Hellfire Rockets you get at the end. Even so, I don't really recommend upgrading any of the rockets until you have nothing else to spend points on. The only enemies you really have to watch out for on Hard (in my opinion) are Hive Lords and Titans. Hive Lords are best dealt with from range. Run away and stay on rooftops or other high places behind cover if at all possible. Otherwise they tend to spawn those irritating Spikers which are deadly on Hard because of how many spawn at a time. Cluster grenades can thin them out, but it's more trouble than its worth. Pick off Hive Lords with well-timed grenades, and remember to continuously backflip away from them (L-stick + ![]() Titans are VERY annoying on Hard. If you leave them alone for more than a few moments below about 30%, they heal themselves back to 30%. So whittle them down with grenades (takes a LOT, each grenade only does a sliver of damage, and rockets aren't much better and cost more). Then find a couple of decent power sources to make a stand and blast away. Last edited by Icemage; 06-21-2011 at 07:13 PM. |
