You have an equal number of posts complaining about people complaining in this thread, so it seems you love complaining just as much. At least those complaining about the green tint are keeping it relevant to their hobby i.e. movies and their Blu Ray treatments. Isn't that why these forums exist? To discuss the merits of a Blu Ray release? Not that you don't have the right to post here and add your opinions to the discussion, but if it bothers you so much hearing people get passionate about their hobby, why not take your own advice and be greatful that you have a roof over your head, food to eat, and a TV to watch movies on. You are happy with the release and so the opinions of others who aren't happy about it shouldn't affect your level of enjoyment one bit. Buy the Blu Rays and enjoy and stop worrying about the opinions of others if you think it's "sad." According to your logic, everyone who posts here is sad.

So now it's about genre? haha

"GENRE."

P.S. - The term "pastoral" evokes pastures. Pastures are GREEN.

By all accounts we have gotten that on those!! (BttF is still debatable though, but I was happy with the release)

Complaining is complaining. Categorizing it is just an escape route. But the EXCESSIVENESS of the complaining is the issue... they are just movies. I'm even a filmmaker and I know that. Life goes on.

I see the green tint in those clips, and I think it's a mistake. Last week I saw the FOTR in a theater as per their exclusive engagement and there was no green tint.

Well no wonder the FIRST thing I said about it was that it looked pretty gorgeous. Too bad ALL of Fellowship of the Ring doesn't look that good.

BTW, that scene must only be found in the extended editions. I don't remember seeing it before and thus my confusion.

That scene does have a very slight green bias. So yes, one can see green in it. But no, not to the amount as even the least intrusive scene of FOTR which had me very confused initially.

I suggest everyone take a step back and cool it before a mod (or mods) come in here and force the issue.

Oh, and about MEB noting some Green Tint in the one scene from TTT, technically one's eyes will see what they want to see, but only to a degree.

And, we don't all see color (tints/shades/intensity) the same way, so while for one person it may not be as pronounced as it is for others.

This is the most important statement. The people who are skeptical have already made up their mind that its defective and wrong and no matter how good it looks to the casual viewer.

And yes I recognize that works both ways.

Maybe missing the obvious, but could someone clarify why they believe the 1st, 3rd and 5th clips are from the extended edition as the title of each video does not mention that they are the EE version?

And don't say becuase they are green

For those who have issue with those who have differing opinions than yourself there are a few easy solutions to get around it -- because at this point there isn't really anything anyone from "the other side" can say that is going to sway an opinion change.

1. Ignore the comments made by that user. Unless their mis-quoting someone out of context, making a statement which is clearly a lie (and you can prove it's a lie), or your willing to exchange in a civil exchange of dialogue, leave the comment(s) be.

2. If your continuing to run into issues with a particular user (or users) go one step further and at them to your ignore list.

This back and forth personal b******t is getting old and ultimately has nothing to do with the release. We had a few days of relative quietness where some actual discussions took place. Different opinions were expressed and for the most part nobody went after anyone's specific opinion -- it was nice.

But I'm guessing this isn't going to happen, so I'll be ready to update the unofficial ban(2)/suspension(4) counts.

As soon as Frogmort changed his avatar it all fell apart. Coincidence?

Maybe.

I dont get what you are asking me to do.

I have acknowledged that I have seen the green tint and have done that since the beginning.

Where you and me DIFFER is that its a distraction and makes the film look bad. The only situation where it struck me as mildly distracting was in the smoke in the clip from Bilbo's party.

Based on the clips that Mark Booth posted I feel very confident that the color change will NOT be a distraction to me when I view the film on my 55" LED in my living room when it finally comes out. Not to mention that this is (until proven otherwise) the version PJ wanted us to see.

I still don't like the current price on these and the fact that they just basically repackaged the dvds from the previous release when I would have much preferred it be put on one bluray (even in SD).

See, and for me these clips confirmed the opposite, especially since I couldn't see anything in the TTT clip which I found even remotely distracting. I found the first one just atrocious, the one with Bilbo's party was sufficiently off that it bothered me and the other two were too dark to matter. So everything with sufficient brightness was compromised and that doesn't bode well for the film as a whole.

I promised to comment on the Scandinavian release date... some online sellers have been saying that because of production delays Extended Edition Blu-rays should become available on July 8th.
