Default Region Free Blu Ray

As a Brit, we are punished, for reasons no one can seem to justify, with high prices for electronics.

One example:

PS3 = £299 or $399 (both 40 gig models)

Translated PS3 is $100 more expensive in the UK.

But to regionisation - your stuck with these price differences. However, many Blu ray discs are region free, and I just want to clarify, that any region free Blu ray disks (300, blood diamond) will work on UK PAL PS3 Blu ray players.....

any one have any other titles where they have had success?

It seems crazy to me that I can buy the same product in a country 1000s of miles away, and have it shipped over to me, for less that buying it, on line, in the UK!!

Europe has that VAT tax, also it does cost with customs fees and stuff. I ship to England a bit and also the very low US dollar is the reason it seems allot cheaper. With region coding it is up to the publisher of the disk if it will be on the blu disk or not. Distrubution agreements are the only reason you have region coding in the first place from what I understand , no other reason.

As a fellow Brit - I hear you mate.

Yeah, I have 300 imported from the US and it works fine in my PAL PS3. I have others too from the US including, The Devil's Rejects, Disturbia, Finding Neverland, Memento, The Oceans Trilogy, The Reaping, Reign of Fire, TMNT, Troy, Underworld, 3:10 To Yuma, War, Resident Evil Trilogy and Blade Runner - all o which work absolutely fine in my PS3.

Try movietyme.com or axelmusic.com for ordering from the US - generally cheaper and quicker than amazon.com (unless they're having a BOGOF).

But I agree - rip-off Britain strikes again. It always bothered me about Americans complaining about the PS3 price and the price of standalones etc when over here forced to pay even more extortionate rates.

I know what your saying mate - but often electronic goods are far cheaper on the continent that here in the UK (thanks to the Euro - its easyer to see where good are sold cheapest)

Trust me, weather its from Cars to Clothes - Rip off Britain is definetly a reality. Goods and services are cheaper in the US - you just get more for your money!!

I mean, would you pay over £1 a litre for Petrol? (That converts to $7.40 a gallon!!!)

Newcastle's famous for it's Ale, not it's beer. As well as having a population the rest of the country (and indeed world) can't understand!!!
