10,000 or did I miss it?
edit: 10,001.

Guess you can use this section to promote that 10,000 B.C. is now Blu-ray Exclusive.

HD DVD has tanked on Amazon since the WB announcement. I expect B&M numbers to reflect that to at least some degree. So we should see some good Neilsens for as long as they choose to publish Blu-ray v/s HD DVD. I hope they keep it up a while, just so we can bask in it a bit.

Well the numbers may not change for awhile. I expect to see many BOGO and in a few months buy 1 get 2 free on the hd dvd side.

Simply put we are going to see some huge clearance sales!

LOL...yeah, I actually thought about putting that as part of my sig line.

Something like:

The Battle for Hi-Def is Over...The Battle for The Standard is About to Begin.

That is until today...there has been a bit of life over there for a few hours now. We'll see what the trend will be in the next week or so.

Go back and look at it for the last 90 days...there is a slight upturn for the last 24 hours...

EDIT: BTW, although your graph is a bit old by a few hours, it looks a lot better than what the newest graphs over at hidefdigest...it shows a swing back up on the 7 day.

In fairness, HD DVD is also dropping off from the loss of the BOGO.

I have nothing to say about the numbers but I gotta say that this post has reached over 10k. Wow that in itself is amazing!!! Go Blu and keep up the good work.

The reason there is a slight upswing is because the 2 formats are substitutes on this chart. The fact that blu-ray's much larger bogo ended forces more titles back to their normal positions, inherently causing hd dvd titles to increase in rank.

I expect B&M numbers to be much more in Blu-rays favour.

Amazon will be used by HD-DVD holdouts for some time yet.

You might see a bit of an upswing on WB titles on HD DVD, They are going to be rushing out and getting every title they can before they are gone. Anyone know if Warner has already stopped production on their previous HD DVD titles? Will the new releases be limited runs for HD DVD? Some of the unreleased stuff might become scarce as soon as it it released.

The HD DVD bogo ended. But next week's nielsen should be brutal as the buying should slow down in light of WB and people waiting for other shoes to drop. This week only had the weekend and part of friday affect the numbers coming out for friday, so may not be that dramatic. (Everything being relative).

I have to imagine the HD-DVD sales numbers on software are going to crash hard across the board. Why would you continue building a dudbrary if popular knowledge is that the media is obsolete?

I agree. why keep buying into a format that's going to die within the year? It makes no since.
