Is it just me or can they make that webpage any harder to read?

I now return you to the regularly scheduled discussion.

did you not see super-***** stand up at the podium at CES for Toshiba?...

Do you realize how much money they stand to loose because of this? This could seriously cripple them.

I can wait on any Universal announcement as all I really want from them right now is the Shrek Trilogy.

However, Transformers is why I bought blu-ray! I'm chomping at the (digital) bit for Paramount to give it up already.

its going to either way, so why not stop the bleeding right now.

toshiba is going to be in big trouble this quarter with its investors.

people will be spending more time with their families.

Thumbs up

It's still great news though! I, personally, don't get tired of hearing it.

ive watched the youtube video a hundred times, its hilarious.

and you know what that means, dual audio processors (yes thats nice that the player can decode more than 1 audio codec, too bad the disc is too small to support anything but lossy audio in a lot of cases or if it does support loseless you gimp something else)...

Actually I find the way this is winding down very funny in an odd sort of way....

It's no longer a Format War, but the battle of the contract. By the looks of it, all that will be left of HD-DVD in a month is scorched earth.

Technically they could, but they probably want to give the impression that it isn't just a response to Warners decision. For their own saving face reasons they probably want to look like they already were in the planning stages and probably want to release some substance and details other then "We are going blu".

Also, they may want their own stage and announce after the warner news has died down some so that they get their own publicity instead of riding the coat tails of warner and getting mixed in with the other million posts about warner this week.

Personally, I found this to be the funniest sentence in the article...

"But retailers are now seriously pressuring these studios to go Blu, and we'd be surprised if many mainstream stores still have HD-DVD hardware and software on their shelves come next Christmas."

Scorched Earth, indeed.

Was it close enough to the release that they did print Transformers on blu?

I think Paramount will want to make their first release on blu special and they will release Transformers as their first blu release while its still a hot title before next summers blockbusters start to hit.
