No, I can READ. The article quoted was written by Reuters and only carried from the wire service by MSNBC. It was also carried on dozens of other news sites that syndicate Reuters content. MSNBC had ZERO authorship of the article.

I agree the article is wrong, but folks need to put away the conspiracy theories and actually look at who WROTE the damn thing.

I would like to point out that stores do not have do declare a format the winner they could however support one over the other.

Even if executives say one thing now while at CES they still have to go back to HQ. Once there they will talk about implications with their equals and superiors and then make a decision that is best for the company.

In all reality they will wait a few weeks or months to see if Universal and P/DW go Blu, that way the stores do not have to deal with HD DVD loyalists whining about dropping support for HD DVD. If they feel that at some point they can encourage a favorable resolution then they should.

The other option is for consumers to start blaming the studios and distributors for extending the format war by not backing what is now the clear victor, Blu-ray.
