Yep. Back when I wrote that post it had been rumoured that HD-DVD was to be the format used by XBOX 2, (now XBOX 360). The HD-DVD consortium had been trying to persuade Microsoft to use it. But obviously Microsoft decided on the cheaper to liscence dvd format. Plus at a 12x dvd rate that must equate to a 100Mbps which is quicker even than a 2x 72Mbps HD-DVD.
