When I first started seeing trailers for it before it ever premiered I thought it looked like Twilight the tv series. Then I watched the pilot and felt like my suspicions were definitely correct so I quit watching. After several months I kept hearing people here talking about how great it was, and how it didn't start out the best but quickly became pretty solid over the course of the first season. So I eventually went back and caught up and was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I definitely agree with you about it feeling like a mix between Buffy and Supernatural. Though I don't believe either show killed of main characters as often as Diaries does.

If the show hangs around a couple of more seasons, I think it will eventually evolve into a Damon/Elena/Stefan love triangle, like what happened on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. There you had the Spike/Buffy/Angel troika, though Angel had gone off on his own show so it was never as in your face as it will be on the Vampire Diaries. What they really need to introduce on the show is a bad girl who wants to seduce Stefan away from Elena.

No but it did change things up a bit and chances are Stefan's always going to want Elena and no one else so it would be changing his character if all of a sudden he started falling for someone.

Kevin can do pretty much whatever he wants on the CW at this point. After two seasons of 'Diaries' he's bringing 'Secret Circle' into the mix. So a spin-off is definitely not out of the question in the next few years.

Kevin's already tried a spin off but decided to focus on the Secret Circle instead.

While I do like Stefan I have always wanted Elena to end up with Damon since episode 1. Besides Eric from True Blood Damon would have to be my 2nd favorite vampire character from a book series or TV.

I'm surprised they let that slide, is that even allowed in the CW? Still, Elena's reaction was hilarious. If he keeps doing stuff like that then it's not going to be too long before she's with Damon.

They don't show anything besides what was shown in the clip so it's just him without a shirt on and some bubbles. CW has done a lot worse then that in there shows.

When I first heard of it, I just sighed and thought it was True Blood for tweeners.

The first episode was OK, nothing special really. I remember thinking I wouldn't watch another episode, but was restless next week and it was on, so there I was sitting in front of the tele watching. The second episode sat a little better with me, but I still wasn't sure where the show was headed exactly, so I thought I'd give it a few more episodes.

I don't remember which episode it was exactly, but maybe 4 in I found that the show found its footing and started it's uphill trek. Season 2 has been an action packed ride from start to finish and I can't wait for season 3 to begin this fall.

Steffan evil for a bit i guess

Love this show one of the best on TV. True Blood has become crap imo. Season 4 is even worse then season 3 never thought that would happen

The Vampire Diaries returns in one week and that means a sexy new promo to whet everyone's appetites.

The one-minute teaser has footage from the upcoming third season, but unfortunately, no real dialogue (except for one line by Alaric), but viewers can assume things are just starting to heat up for the folks of Mystic Falls. With Stefan and Klaus teaming up and wreaking havoc (wherever they are), will Damon and Elena succumb to temptation?

"Hey Elena, happy birthday," Alaric says midway through the promo. It's not revealing much, since the season premiere is set around her 18th birthday party. But the new season does raise new questions: Who is the pair getting hot and heavy in the bedroom? And who else wants a piece of Elena, as the preview so teases?

The Vampire Diaries opens its third season on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Will most likely do what I usually do, grab the season that just came out right before season 4, not paying $45 for it. Hopefully there will be a lightning deal for it or something in November.
