why not get Destroyer to for the extras?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick it for at Walmart? I know it's a catalog title, but I'm suprise there hasn't been any "Hot Deals" posts about it.

Thanks again folks.
Here is a comparison between the German DVD (containing the US theatrical cut) and the US Collector's Edition DVD (130 minute version). Not exactly what you asked for but it will give you an idea.

I'm only buying Destroyer on Tuesday because I don't have any version of it on any format and I love the movie, it's awesome, classic Arnold.

I have the Barbarian DVD so I'll just wait for the blu to come down in price before I buy it.

$19.96. impulse buy that i'm slightly regretting, all things considered. frankly, i'd wait until it was $9.99 at BB or similar somewhere down the road.

I think the only thing Destroyer has is the standard definition trailer.

please take that with a grain of salt. i'm just going by the stated running time on the DVD and the running time of the BD based on the player info on the disc, both 129 min. any changes between the two i would have to say are a matter of seconds, not minutes.

Did you actually read it? They list the time difference of the added material which adds up to about 4 minutes.

Thanks, you beat me to it, I think the extras make it worth getting the HK version of Destroyer as well as Barbarian.

Yea, I was hoping my HK versions would have been here before the US release, but this is not going to happen, I should have my HK versions by the end of the week though, still very much want to watch the US version of Barbarian to see what is different myself.

I love these movies and I really hope they did the audio justice on these Blu's, because these are some of the best scores I have ever heard.

What have you brought to the table??

In fact your troll like behavior and lack of a point has me believing you have never seen either cuts.
You haven't said anything beyond "it's stupid and I don't like it because it ruins the version I saw first" crap. It basically amounts to rabid fanboy ravings. Grow up and try giving me something I can actually discuss with you. Or continue acting like a neanderthal, whatever suits you.

Both movies were mono originally, so while they're 5.1 DTS MA, they're both remixed and the music doesn't really have a lot of stereophonic separation. IMO they did the best job they could and they're absolutely better than the prior mixes, but there's only so much you can do when working from flat, mono soundtracks like both of these films had.

Given they were made in the 80s why wasn't stereo used?

Money money money. Same reason why The Terminator is in mono. Glorious, full-bodied, blood-and-thunder mono, and not the FUBAR 5.1 mix. Hey! Let's make Arnie's .45 hand-cannon sound like a pop-gun! **** off.
