The US release is missing an additional featurette, "Conan - The Rise of a Fantasy Legend" (18 min).

Of 3 sites I have visited, 3 different running times are given. Now I AM confused. The Collector's edition dvd had a longer cut. Bluray.com says it's a shorter cut on the running time. The distributer's site has it as 137 minutes. So which one is it? Anyone know for sure?

Now Universal's site has it listed as a running time of 131 minutes, not the 137 minutes it displayed less than 1 week ago. Grrrr.

That is cool stuff, all I have is the Atlantean Sword I posted several pages back, and yes it is real, and it is really sharp.

It's strange, though -- during the "Moby Dick" scene in the commentary, Milius waxes poetic about how greatly improved he feels the movie is with that additional scene in the edit, and then Universal goes and not only cuts the scene out of the picture, but also re-edits the audio commentary track, to boot.

Yet, the picture quality is definitely a notch higher than the DVD. Will be hanging onto both versions for the time being.

Guess I'm going to have to import then. Shame they stiffed American fans on the extras!

I like the "Moby Dick" scene, like somebody else said, it adds character so its nice to see it put back into the film on the HK version.

"They" would be Universal, which continue to crap on us in the U.S.

I guess if you set it to region A it would default to the uncut?
It appears to be the exact same disc for all territories. Therefore, if you put any of the Fox/MGM discs into a Region B player set that is set up with English as the default menu language, then the disc will play the cut UK version, even if you're in Australia.

In the setup menu for your player, set the default language to one besides English and you're all set. That will get you through to the version without the BBFC cuts.
Thanks heaps for that! A bit of mucking around but it works.
Haven't come across that before.
