I do hope that there is a very good reason for the delay.

IMO, July would be a great month to release it since there are no major games coming out that month and considering how crowded June was in major releases.

Not to mention, all of the bluray boxsets coming too.
I was looking at the release dates for games in July. The only BIG title is NCAA. Like you said, July would have been a good month to release it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Conviction is given its own standalone release before SC6 is supposed to come out.

I seriously doubt that Splinter Cell 6 will come out this year though. The holiday release schedule is pretty filled to the max.

Unless they decided to release it in December.

Here's to hoping that Ubisoft will finally announce a release date for this at todays press conference.

Maybe they will announce the delay was to add in multiplayer AND the xbox/PS2 version of Double Agent.

Wishful thinking on the last two. Realistic thinking for a just a release date.

SHin-R,

I know you're interested in this release and I was if you had any idea when this might be given an official release date.

The 23rd of September?

Are you freaking kidding me???

WHo the heck do they have running their company? They choose to release this right in the middle of the biggest gaming holiday season EVER?

September already has some of the biggest exclusives coming out for both systems coming out. Resistance 3 and Gears of War 3. Yeah makes a TON of sense to release them in between those.

July or August would have been a PERFECT month to release these since aside from Deus Ex Revolution there are no major releases.

If true for the US also, then Ubisoft really blew a huge opportunity because I was very much looking forward to playing these over the summer.

SO far here is what the release schedule looks like:

July: Nothing
August 23rd: Deus Ex Revolution
September 6th: Resistance 3
September 20th: Gears of War 3
September 23rd: SPLINTER CELL
October 4th: Rage, Dark Souls
October 18th: Arkham City
October 25th: Battlefield 3
Nov 1st : Uncharted 3 (hell yeah!)
Nov 8th: COD:MW3
Nov 11th: Skyrimm
Nov 15th: AC: Revelations

There are about two weeks in there that doesn't have a major release.

Surprise!

PlayStation.Blog EU >

It’s nice to be able to sit and talk to you all after months of work. As you may have heard, tomorrow we are releasing a trilogy compilation of our very first Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell games on the PlayStation Store. It includes Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and you will also be able to buy it on Blu-ray Disc at a later date.

As well as being able to buy all three games as a bundle, you can also purchase them separately as single games. The bundle costs €29.99/£23.99 and each individual title is €9.99/£7.99.

Each and every one of them has been highly acclaimed, each exceeding a 90% metacritic rating and bringing the stealth action genre to new heights. I am sure many of you are thrilled at the idea of embodying the cold and calculating Sam Fisher again. You’ll be able to relive this epic series in high definition with enhanced graphics fully remastered in 1080p HD. To top it off, owners of 3DTVs will be able to experience Sam Fisher’s adventures in stereoscopic 3D. And finally, we added trophies for a more rewarding experience. I shall congratulate in advance those of you who get the platinum. Believe me, it won’t be an easy task!

And just because we love PlayStation Plus users, they will enjoy a special treat:
  • 20% Discount on Splinter Cell
  • 10 % Discount on Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
  • Splinter Cell Theory comes with an exclusive theme featuring Sam Fisher
  • See you with goggles on.

Only in europe though.

Very sad and disappointed.

I should be playing these right now.

Can anyone guess some of the hard trophies?

I hope someone posts a trophy list soon. I am curious if there is one platinum or three.

I hope 3!

So is September 23rd official? If so, add yet another title to an already immense list of games I want to purchase spanning a two month period.

So, just to be clear, EU has this as a digital download now, disc in two months (more or less). NA will get both in two months? Or is it possible a digital version comes soon (maybe next week). I don't see why not...

Agreed. May take a few times to get some of them, but they're all doable.

Chaos Theory: http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/spli...eory/trophies/

I don't think i'll get this; never was a fan of Splinter Cell. I got the first game on original xbox and couldn't get past the first locked door so i gave up and never went back haha . I think i'd rather try Siphon Filter though.
