[Show spoiler]I agree with Diesels review, in whole, and his score. Except for the part where he says it wasnt his favorite film of the year so far. Total FAIL!

There are SO MANY things that occurred so frequently that were done perfectly, it made it easy for me to get past the few goofs.

Suspending my disbelief was easier for intelligent primates than it was for Franco as a scientist. The guy just smokes too many herbs for a role like that.

The CGI/Motion Capture is fantastic, but, also, has along way to go. It will only get bettar as the years go pass.

All Hail Ceasar!

Sequel ASAP please.

4.5/5 for its genre and enjoyment level.

Except for that one part

In a movie about Apes rebelling against humans...is the correct side to be on NSE or SE

I also saw T2 before I had seen Terminator so it didn't me as much...of course, I was like 7 when I first saw it, so it was all anyway

I have to disagree with Squid here about Sixth Sense

...but I'm in the minority who didn't like the film that much

Let's see. When a species becomes SE it engages in the mass slaughter of other members of the same species over things like shiney yellow rocks, small pieces of paper associated with the shiney yellow rocks, dark colored liquid from under deserts, the perceived right to own other members of the same species, the belief that one book is more correct than another, the differing pigment tones of the species' epidermis, desireable pieces of dirt, or, just for the hell of it.

Becoming SE is actually a step backwards. Thats why I always root for the NSE to eliminate the SE.

The Yellow Handkerchief - 2008

I don't have much at all to write about this film. At times it seemed like it had no plot... more of a "3 days in the life of..." But when said and done, it was a nice film. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad. Just ok. Kristen Stewart was easy on the eyes, but beyond that, it was just alright. If you like slow paced dramas, it'll work for you. Takes place in the south, New Orleans area.

The wait might work out for you as Unknown could be one of the many movies to go on sale during the holidays. You never know.

You're slacking on Taken since that has been fairly cheap for quite a while now. It'll likely go below $13.99 again at some point.

Haha, Unknown was released here at a cheaper price (for new blu-rays) and Taken is only £7.99 at the moment! I just don't think I should spend said £8 when I know that nearly £80 will be going in about a month for POTC 1-4 and Star Wars !

I also forgot Souce Code came out this coming Monday and thus £14 was taken out of my bank the other day .

The Help 9/10

I want to say this is the best movie I have seen this year. Very happy I went to go see it. I am thinking of getting the book in the next few days. Emma Stone can act. Everyone did a great job. Really hope it will get a chance at the oscars. Might be to soon for them. Then again they do pick 10 movies for best picture.

Tangled

You would of thought that the thief in the film would be able to work out she's the princess It's only, oh I don't know, very obvious

I don't know what to think of the film, on one hand it's pretty funny animated adventure for kids with nice animation and style, on the other hand it's overly meta, with quite obnoxious characters.

With some of the characters it's fairly understandable, like Rapunzel, with her not being out ever. But with others it's just there for the sake of so kids know who's who, like the evil old woman posing as Rapunzel's mum, why is she such a *****, does she want to seem evil, her over exaggeration is only so kids now shes evil and to boo her. Wouldn't it make more sense if she was overly kind, so Rapunzel is more trusting of her, and then when it comes to her song where she tries to convince her of the evil outside world, she would become creepy and evil, and then she becomes completely twisted once Rapunzel escapes. It would of made for a far more interesting character, instead of a villain played up for laughs.

By the way, the opening song to this is pretty lame, I like all the other ones, but the first one was sooooo Teen Pop '99

And I did not like the chameleon, he did nothing except be a little cute pet for Rapunzel...Maximilias was awesome

Other than that, it's a nice animated Disney film, although it could of stopped trying to mimic Shrek in a few scenes, however, I'm sure it will be forgotten come the end of the year similarly to The Princess and The Frog.

7/10

Well, the villainess comes from a long line of other one-dimensional Disney villainesses. I really want to know why the frakk Malificent (from "Sleeping Beauty") and the queen from "Snow White" are so evil.

I could dig the character in "Tangled" though. Older woman, conceited and vain, wanting immortality and everlasting beauty...to me it sounds like a very plausible character rooted in modern life. I can easily imagine some mothers (and probably single women too) acting this way.

Otherwise...good review.

Panic Room

Not much to say about this one except it does what it say, you get a very tense thriller, acting is varied from good to bad, I found the robbers quite interesting, not so much the characters stuck in the panic room. CGI was a bit pointless in a lot of scenes, although it made for a lot of dynamic camera work that couldn't be done other wise. And it's a little too long for my tastes

I guess I should have looked and saw you weren't from the US... Oops I know the feeling though. Two movies I have on my Price tracker just went on sale yesterday, but I'm not sure if I want to buy them or not with all that is coming out in September and October. Knowing me, I'll probably buy them anyways, but that's beside the point.

The more I think about it, we (humans) are NSE as a species. If we were SUFFICIENTLY evolved, we'd be past all those bad behaviors. So, we arent there yet. Thats why we need aliens to wipe us out.

How would it be obvious to HIM? What on earth would be a clue for him?

She is that way because that is truly who she is on the inside, EVIL.

He was an awesome character. He was more than a pet, he was her sole friend for her entire life. Pretty important. She turned to him for advice. Plus, he was funny as hell.

The issue is in our INSUFFICIENTLY evolved state, we believe ourselves to be SUFFICIENTLY evolved. Which there is tons and tons of evidence to the contrary for the species as a whole.

Some individual members of our species, however, are much more sufficiently evolved

Also, I was just looking through the movie channels, and the original Planet of the Apes is airing this weekend. I set it to DVR.
