The only thing wrong with his article is the title in size 1000 font.

That's why buying the PS3 as your BD player is a very wise move.

Even though I have a PS3, I could care less about the PIP and Live features. Now take that HD DVD. I care about great titles, audio quality, and video quality. And yes I am still waiting to purchase a fully completed player (2.0) and with all Dolby and DTS support. I want a dedicated player with great audio and video quality. I want to purchase the Pioneer Elite player; however, I am still waiting for them to release a profile 2.0 player.

Who cares at this point really? Nothing they can say is going to stop people from buying Blu-ray players. The average consumer is not reading any of this stuff. Most people don't do any kind of research when the buy a product. They go to the store, look at whats available, talk to the salespeople for info, pick out what they want and take it home. Read the comments. All of them by HD DVD fanboys. Too bad for them all the new BD players coming out will be profile 1.1, so people won't miss that. ALso, most people will not want to hook their player up to the internet, they are not going to go stringing cable through their family room or whatever to get it to their BD player. Maybe if they have a wireless router and the player has wireless capabilities, they might.

I didn't mind the font size so much as the title, which is very misleading, while the article was actually quite clear and accurate.

"As the owner of a high end AV Store, I think the current state of consumer electronics is idsgusting. Overpriced soon to be obsolete crap which takes away your rights as a consumer. HDMI? WHat version are we on now? Will it work with your old stuff? Why is Holywood telling us what we can and can not do with our technology that we purchase?"

this guy is a dumb ass "high end A/V store" & he b!tchs about a $300 player? maybe his 'high end store' is a Wally World or maybe the prices have drop soo fast he can't charge $1k for a player anymore.

"which takes away your rights as a consumer", whatever...

"HDMI?" he may own a store but knows ZERO about players, how the fu^k is one going to get 1080p with out HDMI?

"Will it work with your old stuff?" yes you dumb F^ck

"Why is Holywood telling us what we can and can not do with our technology that we purchase?" because when you buy the disc that is all your doing, you don't own the Rights to that movie, alittle something called 'copyright material'.

I buy Blu-ray to watch movies, not connect to the internet or use something to shoot monsters on the screen. If little boys want something they can interact with, they should buy a game console, not a Blu-ray player.

Today's crop of Blu-ray players will work just fine for me well into the future.

Yeah, too bad people bought cars in 2006 because the 2007 models are SO superior. I bet they never planned on buying a car ever again, cuz we all know cars last forever and no one ever replaces them with more current, upgraded models. And there's this persistent rumor that as soon as the 2008 models come out, the 2006 models will just stop working altogether and be useless piles of junk.

Think of the PS3 as an actual computer. It has internal memory and everything. The Blu-Ray players out now (aside from the one that's profile 1.1 compliant) are lacking the internal memory required for these functions.

but if the player has a flash reader or usb port your could use flash memory to fill this requirement
