Don't you just love when people crap on a film they haven't even SEEN yet? Based on...what, exactly? Nothing, that's what.

As for this new Blade Runner prequel/sequel/reboot, what-freakin'-ever. I would tend to think FORD won't want to go back & revisit that character, but you never know I suppose. W/out him, will Audiences (more importantly) even want to See a new version, & if so, who will Ridley cast in his place?

I really despise remakes/reboots. And Blade Runner is in my top 10 movies of all time so this is even worse.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt said it right. We just need to make a stand and tell Hollywood we're not going to put up with (blanky) movies anymore. (paraphrased)

I do not understand why some people are assuming this will be a remake/reboot. Can you please take me through your thought process on that? It makes absolutely no friggin' sense whatsoever. Especially since Ridley Scott is the one making this film.

Unless, of course, you're just mindlessly trashing the film in a knee jerk reaction.

That didn't stop him from making G.I. Joe, did it?

I don't know what to feel! On one hand I love Blade Runner but on the other hand i don't think a sequel is necessary or even possible to do in a good way.

Though I must say I am glad it is Ridley who is involded in this. That said I would must rather see him a different PKD book as a movie.
A Ridley Scott Ubik would be amazing!

Trilled by this news, I love the original and I also have an open mind, so making another entry to this movie is definitely welcome! Glad to hear the Ridley Scott will be directing

As a BR fan, my iniital reaction:

I'll have a more concrete reaction to this news sometime on June 8, 2012 after seeing Prometheus. This seems completely unnecessary to me right now though.

Angry internet nerds today would've said the same thing after the original Godfather. Or the original Alien. Or the first Star Wars movie. I mean... those films were already perfect; so there was nothing to be gained from a sequel... right?

Right?

I agree with you bud. The key words here is open mind. Too many people don't know what that is, and they pass judgement right away. I know everyone is tired of reboots, and remakes and so forth. But, Hollywood is gonna do what it wants to do, and they'll keep doing it, so long as the movie theatres are being filled to see these remakes and reboots. You don't like it...no one is forcing you to go see it. Simple enough.

Blade Runner is my favorite movie of all time. Even with Ridely Scott returning, I don't want another installment!

Why would Ridley Scott remake a film done by his brother, Tony Scott?

Not a good analogy. INDIANA JONES has a History of SUCCESS & movies that most audiences enjoyed as well
[Show spoiler](which ones is not the point I'm making)
. BR didn't have much success, & Ford
[Show spoiler](like a few posts back noted)
wasn't really a fan of it when all was said & done. They'll find someone new.

Thing with Prometheus and Blade Runner is they are being helmed by the same artist/director. For mine this is a plus. Hopefully Ridley will pair up with Vangelis to compose the music again, I'd love to hear how he sounds 30 yrs down the track .

As long as they don't call it 'Blade Runners' and have it directed by James Cameron....
