I prefer the US theatrical or extended over Argento's cut.

My Blu-Ray player won't play the "extras" that are on the lone Blu-Ray disc in this set. I have yet to figure out why.

they are in PAL system. PS3 and some standalone players don't understand them even if your monitor does.

@Leterface: Are you 100% sure? I asked Arrow directly are the extras on the BD disc in SD and PAL-encoded and they said "all content" on the Blu-Ray disc "is in HD".

Bit of a bump of the thread but noticed its currently £10.99 on HMV which is a great price for this set.

The current one is a pretty solid Special Edition, I don't see why they would need to re-release it so soon. For £10.99, its a great price.

They may be in HD.... HD 1080i 50hz then they'll be incompatible with a 60hz system like a lot of BBC blu-rays.

Can anyone confirm the information about the extras?

If so, I'm really screwed. I don't have a region-free player, and this is my only blu-ray player, so I can't access ANY of the extras on that first disc?

That's the reason I pretty much bought this set, was for the extras on that set.

It doesn't really make sense to me that the extras of Day of the Dead would be accessible from USA players but not Dawn of the Dead.

Sorry forgot to answer..I can't remember if I meant the different cuts (Argento & Director's) or the actual extras, either way, if you are uncapable of PAL you can't watch all the versions of the film on this package.

If parts of the DVD are inaccessible due to being in PAL the disc will play on any PC DVDROM anywhere.

Crappy thing is, the Blu-ray is too, so unless you have a region free player, looks like you can't access the Document of the Dead stuff. (

So the movie will play but the extras wont because of being in PAL? well that sucks. Well I may import these anyway(looks like a cool set) are they better than the US versions or is the PQ about the same

The Arrow version has less DNR and stronger colours.

Yeah, and apparently the theatrical cut is Romero's preferred version so the "directors cut" is really the extended cut. Since I've had the Arrow set I've watched the 3 cuts, I definitely prefer the theatrical (better pacing in my opinion) and the international/Argento cut is by far the weakest.
