Exactly! (and heck, these days even comics and collectible figures are a guessing game as to whether they will go up in value or not).

While I can get particular about my movie packaging and will sometimes go out of my way to get a preferred version if more than 1 version exists and the version that I prefer is a bit more difficult to obtain, I am still ultimately buying it for the movie (or tv show), itself.

Sure, there have been occasions where I have bought a Blu-Ray or DVD movie or TV box set that I didn't get around to watching right away, and in some cases (though few and far between... I am typically in the habbit of opening most things I buy right when I get them) I just never got around to opening the shrink wrap right away for one reason or another. Maybe I set it down, intending to open it in the near future, and then just kind of forgot that I hadn't opened it. Or something like that.

But no, I'm not buying Blu-Rays and keeping them wrapped up for collectible value or anything.
