True story:

I watched this movie the night before my wife and i took our 7th year anniversary trip to hike from the top of the Grand Canyon to the Colorodo and back out. 5 days worth of hiking.

Never ever has a movie left me so disturbed. I think it was just the whole desolation to it, we saw a total of two people over those five days and had a few scrapes with losing the blaze and dehydration. All while, this damn movie was playing in my head.

Needless to say, it is not, and will not be in my collection.

For the above reasons alone, it should be in yours.

So far, only released as an import...I don't think it'll be too long before it comes available....I will readily snatch it up on the first day.

I saw part II on the shelves in best buy last week...inferior sequel in my mind.

In the UK, movies are not allowed to be called 'Unrated.' Everything released must be rated. So in the UK, they have to come up with more creative ways of expressing the same thing - in this case, it's 'The Version To Die For.' It is the same as the US 'Unrated' cut.

As for the time on the cover, a) studios are normally super wrong with that kind of thing, and b) the fact that in the UK BDs and DVDs will have different lengths for the same cut of the same movie really throws them off (this is due to DVDs being encoded at the PAL 25 fps, and BDs being 24 fps).

It's on sale this month at Best Buy. Good price, but as you said, its an inferior sequel. It doesn't even come close to the quality of the first. Though, to be fair, I don't think it's quite as bad as some make it out to be either. It's just a disappointing (but watchable) sequel.

Both FoxConnect and Walmart have The Hills Have Eyes available for pre-order for right under $16. I notified AMZ of the lower price in hopes that they'll drop theirs soon. I cannot believe it's still being listed for over $20!

I will probably just order it off of walmart.com...its 15 bucks with 1.25 tax with free shipping to a store. I usually would justify buying the 2 film set but the sequel sucked more than a hooker working the vegas strip.
