this (my post) will probably get deleted, but i agree with you about it being a great true story. anyone that is christian or claims to believe the gospel should take this movie to heart because it depicts alot of what the bible says. i must say im a believer and this film only brings me closer to my Savior. <go ahead, im ready for a warning or suspension>

+1
I'm making the effort to hold my tongue on the site because of the sensitivity of some people toward the mere mention on religion so I'd appreciate non-believers to show the same courtesy. Simply stating that it's not for them or not interested should be enough to say.

you'll be fine. just don't tell or suggest what you have to the mods. they look down upon digging your own grave and act upon it more than if you hadnt said anything about being warned/ banned

That's definitely one of the films I would re-buy so I could have it in high def. And that's Fox I believe, which means BR!

I held off in buying the Special Edition of the film in hopes that this film will come on Blu-ray.
I would get it and watch it first day of release.

I haven't seen this yet, but I want to. I'm just not all that interested in seeing the torture scene, as that's really the kind of stuff that went down (whether you believe in Christ or not) as a punishment during those days.

If it's out on blu it would push me to buying it and watching it. I'll just fast-forward through the scourging, I know it couldn't have tickled so I don't need to see it.

I went to see this at the cinema. Very moving film. I have not bought it on DVD but i would buy it in hi-def. I don't know whether i could watch some scenes again though.

BTW isn't this a 20th Century Fox title in the US?

Yes, it is.

If this were to come out on Blu-ray, I would definitely buy it. I have it on DVD, although I haven't actually watched it since theaters. In my opinion, this was a powerful film and while it is hard to watch, it's a good reminder, to those of us who proclaim to be Christians, of what Christ went through for us. I'm sure the audio/video would be top notch as well and the musical score to this movie would be fantastic to listen to in DTS MA (hopefully the PS3 will have that feature by the time this movie is out).

Got this movie on DVD. It's one of the few movies that I'll re-buy to get the Blu-ray copy. Possibly the most powerful movie I've seen.
