For the price range it is in, the 605 is a pretty good receiver. It will handle the 1080p signal and most of the audio codecs when you jump over to a 1080p television.

I'm sorry, I meant the receiver in the HTS894 system.

Default Now the HTSR800 enters the picture!!!

OK!! How about the difference between the HTS894 system and the HTSR800 besides 7.1 vs. 5.1. What is the quality difference in speakers, receivers, etc. And why is there such concern about the pass thru HDMI??? Does it hurt the sound quality in any way or is it just a problem for mulitple components. All we would have is DVD player & a Wii along with the TV. Thanks again for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
