Smile 46 in sony xbr2

my parents just bought a new 46 inch 1080p sony xbr2 flat panel lcd tv with bravia engine from best buy tonight...spent almost 2 hours at best buy deciding between a samsung 40inch 1080p 120hz for $1899 and the sony, which was an open box item for $1799 (original price tag was $2499)...awesome deal, convinced them to go w/ the open box, just get the extended warranty...so we just got home and my dad had me hook it up for the living room and i must say i am very impressed with the quality and its just gettin a standard cable feed right now...have to call dish network to get another HD receiver for it, and bestbuy is gonna come mount it for us next week just in time for superbowl! and eventually i'm trying to convince them to get a blu-ray player, most likely the ps3...they also got a samsung 32 inch lcd for their bedroom. anyone else have the sony set, feel free to let me know what you think about it, your experiences, what your optimal settings are, etc...thanks

Get decision on the tv!

Why would you go to Best Buy for a tv mount when you can get that same $150 mount for $14.99+20 ship on ebay?

I've got the 40 inch XBR2 and have been very, very satisfied with it. I have had it for roughly nine months and can say that really the only shortcoming with that tv is that the black levels leave a bit to be desired. Don't get me wrong, the black levels are not terrible or anything, they just aren't *perfect*. It is a great tv in all other respects though. If you're watching something with a lot of bright colors, you will be amazed.

I have the same Tv but in a 40 inch, its a great Tv I have had it over a year not and not problem whats so ever with it.
There is a thread over at avs where you can get a bunch of different configurations to do your set up with the picture.

I also have to agree with Footlose..you can get that mount much cheaper if you check around and depends how good a handy man you are you can mount up yourself.

I must also recomend a good surge protector for the TV.

I bought mine in mid '06 and I haven't had any real issues with mine. Unfortunately, I paid top dollar for it because it had just come out.

The only issue with this LCD that I have is the uneven black background which you can't really see when watching movies or gaming.

I got my settings from the AVS forum, you can do a search and find whatever fits your taste.

For me, I just recently won the Sony 46-in. Bravia XBR2 but I won't receive for another 6 to 8 weeks, therefore, I cannot say much right now, however, all the reviews I have read seem to give it much praise. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival!

I bought this TV a few months ago and I love it. The picture is amazing and there are true blacks.

Great choice Sony has preset video options, standard is considered the closest to a natural looking picture .
