This quote was shutdown by Bill Gates, and some other higher up person at Microsoft.
They are too proud of their HDi crap to give in to Blu-ray.

If you do that then I'll have to start the petition to stop petitions on petitions for petitions. You would leave me with no choice.

I would rather they spend the money on ironing out all the current existing problem with the XBox 360 to begin with. That platform is too flawed for me to even begin thinking about using it as a console, let alone a possible Blu-ray media outlet.

You can't expect much from Macrohard.

I, for one, would like more people to buy PS3s. With Microsoft making a Blu-ray add-on to the xbox360, there will be one less reason to buy the PS3. Thats bad ...very bad. The PS3 is a superior game console and it needs as much support possible.

Microsoft can take their sweet time in releasing a Blu-ray add-on. The longer, the better for the PS3.

No way, I would rather microsoft fell behind and failed miserably for not taking the high road in the first place. Plus, although as a gaming machine the XBOX360 is great, LONG LIVE THE PS3 and BLURAY GAMES, which the xbox can never do!!!!

You prove my point. You are not here because you are a blu ray fan, you are just a sony fan. So how are you supporting the format?

You also prove my point. This is supposed to be a blu ray site, yet you dont seem to care anything about bluray, just the ps3.

Most likely, Macrohard would give Blu-ray a bad name...just like everything else they touch.

Im not sure i even understand what Macrohard is supposed to mean. Sure, you just took the opposites of Micro and Soft and put them together, but is that some kind of put down? I dont see how it is. Its just a childish attempt at humor where none exists.

It's alright buddy. I don't like what Micro/Macro/soft/hard does to any of the markets it enters.

You are right, it did go no where. Their business practices try to prevent this.

Well , considering that you are just 24 years of age. You wouldnt really remember a time when PCs did not exist in the home. I do. Home PC sales and use exploded when a uniform operating system came out that everyone could use. I wonder who it was that brought that out, besides apple that is...why..it was MS!

Now what exactly the "anti-MS" thing has to do with "ruining" BD i have no idea. I dont see how they could "ruin" blu-ray.

Then what? We see no innovation from Microsoft. They buy out companies to shut them down. They are years behind other better software companies and rely on acquisitions to stay in the game (which they in turn screw up and leave for dead when they are done with them). Now they are also going after VMware with a recent acquisition of Citrix. Care to guess what will happen? We will end up with a mediocre virtualization solution that Microsoft will probably bribe hardware vendors to promote and use. They are doing the same to Toshiba right now with their HDi solution for HD DVD. I have a hatred for Microsoft, but it's not unfounded.

...using ideas "borrowed" from IBM. Yes MS got into the OS market at the right time, but people use Windows because they have no where else to go; Apples are too expensive to compete.

It would be more honest for MS if they ditched their HD-DVD add on and concentrated on their download service.

Much as I'd smile to see MS do a 360 on blu-ray support, I really can't support them cashing in on the success of blu-ray when they've done everything they can to scupper the format.

So you feel if a BD drive came out on the 360, they would somehow take over the BDA and run BD into the ground? Somehow, i doubt that would happen. ALL Companies are out to make money, some may claim to watch out for the consumer, but the money is what they want. Even Sony.

No, they are trying to drive the BDA into the ground by supporting HD DVD. I understand your reasoning that it can't hurt to have Microsoft producing Blu-ray, and I agree. I just don't like Microsoft. If they were to produce a Blu-ray player or even the software for Blu-ray playback, I wouldn't buy it. Blu-ray is not their market. They have already stretched out far enough.

Yes I know ultimately I'm the only one to blame for not being a lil more business savvy but MS shouldn't try to capitalize on the consumers ignorance. Now that I have had some experience in this area I won't be made a fool again......well at least not by MS
Don't get me wring, MS does a lot of stupid things like Windows Vista and all the problems with the XBox 360. But there is a lot of hate and contempt on this forum in general for them.

I know that all companies are out to make money. I've already come to that realization, etc. BDA companies bother me less than Microsoft.
