Is there nothing happening with this movie? When LOTR was being filmed, it seemed there was a constant stream of info during the filming.

Here's a story about Evangeline Lilly on the Tonight Show and she was asked about The Hobbit. Someone wrote in the comments below that she looks like Liv Tyler who played an elf woman as well in LOTR.

They were supposed to start shooting "Block 2" on September 5th, so as long as that schedule didn't slip, they've been filming for a month.

![]() . Exclusive: The first screening of ‘Hobbit’ footage? October 10th, 2011 by MrCere Staffer Kristin Thompson has written from the road with a great giveaway item and a hot rumor. Expect this TORn exclusive to heat up the internet today but it seems the spy network has checked in. Kristin says: “At MIPCOM, a television trade show held in Cannes on October 3 to 6, this great bag with an image of Bilbo was being given away. It’s trademarked by New Line Cinema and MGM. Rumor has it that a few minutes of footage from THE HOBBIT were also screened!” MIPCOM is an entertainment and television showcase that is attended by around 12,000 industry people in Cannes, France each year. Industries that include TV, film and digital content from both the distribution and production side of things get together to decide trends, make deals, shake hands and see cool stuff before the rest of the world. It also helps inform buyers and distributors about content rights on a global scale, which is just the kind of thing MGM and Warner Bros. would be doing one year before The Hobbit hits theaters. And, with confidentiality agreements signed and professionals (not press) making up the audience, I feel pretty confident insiders have now seen rough Hobbit footage. Anybody, including studio executives who want to update or correct us with more information, please hit us at SpyMaster@TheOneRing.net. Thanks Kristin! __________________________ http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2011...obbit-footage/ .

LOL Yea, I keep thinking that you are down there in New Zealand. Sylvester McCoy Talks A Little Bit About Radagast October 27th, 2011 by Earl | Source: TVNZ Moahunter, our New Zealand message board member, has informed us that Sylvester McCoy was interviewed on TVNZ this morning and, among other things, was asked about his role as Radagast the Brown in The Hobbit. Concerning his schedule, McCoy states he was down in Wellington, New Zealand earlier this year for about 8 weeks, shooting in the studio, and now he’s back there again for a couple of weeks for location shooting. In addition, he’ll be returning again in February 2012 for a couple of days. The man couldn’t say much about his role though (apparently he’s been programmed by Weta to gag himself the moment his mouth utters the word “Hobbit”), though he could reveal that the main character he’s interacting with is Ian McKellen’s Gandalf the Grey. _________________ http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2011...bout-radagast/ WOW! It appears that they renovated the 'Green Dragon Inn', and it looks a lot nicer now. [Show spoiler] .

It is nice to see that the production is developing Hobbiton, although little of the action takes place there. Hobbiton remains my favorite location in the Lord of the Rings movies. From the appearance of the Green Dragon, some extensive shooting may occur there. I'm not sure of the function of the multi-story structure under construction, as Hobbits preferred low, one-story buildings.

Bob, I am assuming that that one might happen to be Beorn's abode, as we all know from the movies that the structures from the books do not end up identical in the ones in the films... or something that they may have added that was never even in the book either.
