If it's possible just get a crane bring it to your home, demolish it. Bring in a bulldozer to remove the debree and build a huge theater and hire your ex-girl friends to run it.

Furniture:

- 2 rows of Eames Lounge Chairs (link)

And of coures the multi million dollar house to build the dream theater in .

That was easy. I think the problem starts with building a theater that is within my budget

Money no object...

DPI Titan Reference 1080p with autoscope lens -- $70k (better contrast ratio than the Runco)
120" x 287" 2.39:1 CH Stewart Filmscreen GrayHawkRS G3 (enhanced contrast) -- Price unknown
Mark Levinson No. 40 with HDMI module Preamp/Processor -- $32k
8 Mark Levinson No. 33H Monoblock Amps -- $10k a piece
Wilson Audio Speaker System -- approx. $140k for 7.1 arrangement
Lumagen RadianceXD Video Processor -- $4000
Denon DVD-BD3808BDCI Blu-ray Disc player -- $1999
Denon DVD-5910CI DVD player -- $3800
Pioneer HLD-X9 MUSE LaserDisc Player (with Sony MSC-4000 MUSE Decoder and Pioneer RF-D1 AC-3 demodulator) -- have to buy used for about $4000 (mostly for those "old" calssics that never made it to DVD/BD)

It looks like around $340k, not including building the massive room that would need to be built, all the custom furniture, bar area, Creston control system, cabling, soundproofing, etc.

So... maybe half a million to do it all "right."

Not a bad setup, though.

I am surprised that you are all ignoring speakers. You should spend most of your money on good speakers. I suggest a pair of Wilson Audio Alexandria X2 speakers for the front at a cost of $135,000 per pair. Two for the rear for another $135,000 and one for the center for the bargain price of $67,500. The total price will be about $360,000, including tax, delivery, and installation.

I've had my eye on the B&W Nautilus Shells, but the $35k ($70k/pr) price tag has put me off..... I'd certainly be hiring someone to do all of the heavy lifting, and I'd probably be looking at $5k-$10k in accoustical room treatments, etc.

If money really didn't matter, I would make my dream Home Theater experience.
I would invest in an HD projector, and build an entire home theater with a theme around it. I would avoid the common themes of Star Wars and Star Trek... and I have seen some really cool ones like the Bat Cave. I would want to do something unique. I was thinking it could be possible to build a Futurama inspired room, or Fortress of Solitude, or something with a definite anime theme... either way I would spend a lot of time and money to pick, design, and build the most unique and cool themed home theater you have ever seen!
I would get chairs with D-BOX, each made to fit the room but also comfortable and reclining with cup holders and even retracting trays. It would have a 9.1 surround sound set up with the best speakers I could get. I know a serious audiophile that can hook me up with $26,000 speakers (each) that are among the best in the world!
I would build in a bar and a small kitchen for food and snacks as well.
And I would use a PS3 for all playback.

Someday I will at least have my own themed home theater.. I swear it! It might not be as grandiose as I have envisioned here, but it will be something impressive to say the least.

i would probably go with something like this

PlasmaWall™ XP-103DHD ( secondary )
Signature Cinema™ SC-1 with dhd controller ( primary )
theta digital Citadel ( one for each channel unsure how many )
theta digital CASABLANCA III ( once all the hdmi issues were worked out )
b&w 800 series speakers 4 subs and butt kickers in all seating
all cables would be canare except hdmi
unsure of screen size and type
pioneer elite blu-ray player

I would also buy a full film setup

It doesn't have to be gi-normous, or hu-gantic. A nice sized Sony BR5 with surround sound in an appropriate room would do.

Personally, I'd rather bring myself some nice toys to the past. Or an older version of myself bring them to me today.

If money were no object, I'd shoot a lot higher than that! I'm planning on replacing my surround sound with 800's, and putting my 700's in a spare room that will be a secondary theater. 800's are damn nice though!

Money is really not an issue for me - however - even I must draw the line. I would NOT spend that much money on a pair of speakers. EVER. I don't care who made them.
