The poster said he had the PSN versions in the UK.

I would just like to get some confirmation if this has been done in the US, because I am ready to buy these ASAP!!
Hi Merrick,

Sorry to disappoint, but as of 5 minutes ago the US release has not been patched. I just popped in the disc, and no patch downloaded, and there is no invert option available in-game. Maybe the US network will have the patch at a later date.

I only played through the first Splinter Cell HD so far, but overall I was pretty disappointed with Ubisoft's efforts. The lack of invert didn't bother me, as that is not how I play, but there were plenty of other problems I saw with this release. Horrendous frame-rates, especially near any fire effects (worse FPS hiccups than when I popped in my original Splinter Cell game into my 360 to compare). It seems to me they didn't put much effort (if any) into optimizing the game engine for PS3 hardware.

Also, it appears to me that they simply took the letterboxed 4:3 cutscenes, and simply stretched them horizontally to fit 16:9. Everyone looks rather fat... I forced my television into 4:3 mode during some scenes and the height/width of the characters looked to be in the correct ratio. When they could have cropped the letterboxing and made the video true widescreen but didn't, well, I was a bit upset by this. They also seem to have simply stretched the 4:3 menu screens and loading screens rather than have someone rework them into 16:9. I didn't expect them to re-render CG cutscenes to a higher resolution, but to simply stretch them was just bad.

Ubisoft has taught me a valuable lesson. I will never again preorder an HD 'remake' on PS3 again, and will wait for reviews, even on old favorites like the rumored FFX HD remaster (not sure if this title was confirmed?). After playing the first Splinter Cell I even immediately cancelled my preorder for Metal Gear Solid HD. Yeah, it's a different company, but I seriously felt burned after playing SC.

As a huge fan of the first three Splinter Cell games back in the day, this release was, in my opinion, severely lacking in quality control, and a real disappointment and missed opportunity.
