I have to disagree. Instead of buying a whole game you have to buy each piece before you have a complete game? Oh hey you can get this game for only $10, BUT WAIT! You're only getting Story Mode. If you want Free for all and online modes, you have to pay more cash. Seriously in the wrong hands (*cough*Activision*cough*Capcom*cough*) this is REALLY a bad idea. DLC already is doing stuff like this.
Oh well at least I can use my PSN cash to buy something worthwhile. Last edited by TL OWNS U; 11-17-2011 at 12:58 AM. |

You still pay the EXACT SAME if you buy all the pieces individually or just buy the retail game via the PSN. The game is $29.99 on the PSN All the individual modes add up to $29.99 This is great for those who are only interested in specific aspects of the game such as the story mode or whatever. And they are not doing a bait and switch here. IT's CLEARLY listed and stated what you are getting. There's no misleading or deception here. |

How many gamers out there would buy a game if they could buy individual modes and not have to pay extra for online servers which they will never use? If I could get Uncharted 2 or 3 for less with the online aspects removed, that'd be awesome. Because I never play online. |

I agree with TL OWNS U this is BAD very BAD.It only takes one company to start a fire like the online pass that started this year. It was at first okay because it was only adding a fee to play mulitplayer for used copies that crap spread and company's thought ohh we can do this too and what happened? We had to purchase single player content for used games see Batman Arkham City

I honestly don't get the hate here. I get not liking EA as I don't care for them either, although I like some of their games.
But this can really only be a good thing provided there isn't a buy the game and then find out to play it you have to buy more stuff. I mean I look at it like this. I have ZERO interest in fighting online with this game. So I paid $4.99 for the Story Mode which you get the download of the entire game file with it. Now since I don't want to get the Online aspect, that's $10.00 off the $29.99 price that is given for the entire game on the PSN store. So if I want everything else, I'm getting all of the game I want and none of the game I don't want, for $19.99. How is getting the a good game for less while not having to pay more for aspects you don't want a bad thing? I'd LOVE to be able to buy NCAA 13 when it comes out on the PSN with no online functionality (aside from being able to do the roster share). Imagine instead of paying 50 bucks or more you could buy the "Play Now", "Road to Glory" and "Offline Dynasty" for say $30 or $35 dollars? $15 for each Road to Glory & Dynasty and $5 for Play Now. That's a bad thing? People are so down on this pointing out random hypotheticals of "company X could do this and do something bad with it". **** company X and what they may or may not do. The bottom line here is do you think THIS is a good thing? Releasing a game a la carte where you can buy the functionality you want and you don't have to pay for stuff you don't want. How is this specific instance a bad thing? |
