This movie was better than I thought it would be,and Nicole Kidman looks pretty hot in it for an older broad.

I agree with Sky Captain. The movie was not great. In my theater, everyone laughed when Nicole Kidman slammed that kid into the bedpost. That was the best part.

Nicole Kidman was gorgeous in this, as always. I thought the story was decent, although the editing and general tone of the movie seemed a little off (which makes sense given the troubled production the movie went through).

There were quite a few moments that were unintentionally humorous, like Kidman slamming the kid into the bedpost. I personally had quite a laugh when the cop was going to grab her son and she screams "DON'T TOUCH MY CHILD" and starts shooting everyone.

Why would AVC matter? All that matters is that they don't port the HD DVD over. And it has Dolby TrueHD.

I believe MPEG-4 AVC is the best video codec transfer compare to VC-1 and MPEG-2. As for Dolby TrueHD, not all players can decode it (including the PS3) so PCM would benefit most of us...

I have to say i watched sunshine and kept waiting and waiting and at the end it lost me and my friend ,I have to say the invasion sounded good by plot lines anyway ,but i`ve never been a kidman fan but i agree i`ll at least see it and judge for myself

Do you have proof of this? I am guessing most of the VC-1 transfers you've seen have been WB. Check out Kingdom of Heaven and Crank (what a crap movie by the way) for Mpeg2 and then Deja Vu for VC-1. I guarantee you that you'll be just as impressed by those as you are with AVC titles. And another thing, AVC does NOT automatically guarantee a quality encode. That's something that a bunch of people tend to think around here and I am not sure why.

For my part I liked it!

I went to see it at a theater and I enjoyed it... I also enjoy sci-fi and horror movies. I am not sure I will buy it right away but if I get to the store, I'm not sure I'll be able to resist!

the PS3 can decode Dolby TrueHD... it cannot send bitstream but it will decode it to lpcm via HDMI to an HDMI receiver.

Yeah and Good Luck Chuck was considered "shit" by critics and many members on this board and I thought that movie was hilarious. Seen it twice since I bought it already.
