I have bought a TV with one of their plans before and the service was exceptional. Any TV 25" or over they will service in home, and if they can't, will take care of bringing it in for you. Whey they found out they couldn't repair the TV, they allowed me to pick out a brand new TV within like $200 of the original. Then, they delivered it free of charge.

It was pretty exceptional service, IMO, and covers significantly more than the 1 year manufacturer warranty (although the Samsung warranty also provides in-home service for 46" and larger.) But, the $400 is pretty damn steep for something I have a 50/50 or less chance of using. I typically get protection plans for all my products, but they are never this expensive. I realize it would pay for itself 3 times over if something were to go wrong, but I just have a hard time rationalizing laying down another $400 on an already expensive TV.
Thanks! I'm going to pull the trigger on the CC protection plan, and call and buy it tomorrow. Like you, I'm not fond of taking that much extra $ onto the cost of the TV, but I can easily see one repair costing around or at least that. I believe the 3 year plan was either $269 or $299, so I may go with that one.
