It'll be the same as the US version.

The so-called Skynet version was put on hold with MGM's financial problems in 2009.

I've heard the US disc isnt' very good (for this or T2). When good discs come out (where ever in the world) , I'll upgrade, but till then, I'll have to wait.

Nevermind the transfer, how about including the original mono mix this time around?

I actually imported a Region 3 DVD of the movie just so I could get a special edition of the film with the mono track since the US special edition had long since gone OOP.

Finally! I'm hoping, considering it has taken so long for this to be released in the UK, that it will not be a direct port of the US disc, but I imagine the chances that it'll incorporate the new Lowry transfer and extras are slim. Also, nice cover.

Want this, but like someone said, a bit pointless if it's the current US transfer.

Hopefully this means we are going to start to see more MGM releases...I'm looking at you James Bond!

Sneeky feeling as Skyfall is released in Bond's 50th Year, we may finally see a BR Bond set of all 22 movies. Hopefully with a space for Skyfall when on home-release

This would be cool, but they are always going to release more James Bond films so I wouldn't want to buy a collection. I'd rather they finish what they started with the black and gold slips, I think they look really nice.

As for The Terminator, I have the US release but will probably switch so I have the UK release.

I'll be okay with it being the original US transfer as long as it includes the original mono mix...

Also available to pre-order from Play.com, with a release date of the 14th instead of the 4th, which actually sounds more right as the 4th is not a Monday so im guessing that's an Amazon typo.

There was a placeholder for the boxset on Amazon, so hopefully we'll get a quadrilogy set at the same time.

Although I only need The Terminator and the third one, which I think had framing issues?

As much as I want this I think I'll wait until a 1-4 box set comes out and see if I like the look of it. If not then I'll get just get it separate

Hmmm... this is interesting...

As someone else mentioned above, the full bells & whistles remastered edition was cancelled when MGM hit their troubles... with no mention of the project being reinstated or any rumours of it being released in America any time soon.... I don't hold out much hope of this UK release being anything other than maybe a re-encoded release of the version already out in the States... probably released to just try and get some cash flow going for MGM.

However, the fact that a catalogue release has been announced a full 5 months before street date, does give me some hope that in fact the remaster is back on, and they intend to give it some serious publicity over the next few months... because surely a simple re-encode could be turned around in weeks and in the shops in no time.

Fingers crossed i guess
