You could also consider looking on Audiogon for the Studio centre v2 that would match up exactly.

That's the thing about the CC-190, some sites I come across says it matches the Monitor series, others say the Studio series. I've gotten in touch with Paradigm directly and they said the CC-190 would work fine with my Studio 20s v.2, however me being as particular as I am would like to get some first-hand, user opinions and ideas. Just stinks I live in the middle of nowhere so I cannot go and demo any of this.
When I started my upgrade from the Monitor v5 series to the Studio's, I got the towers "Studio 100 v5's" first but held on to the CC-390 v5 only until I could afford the CC-690 v5. So just for a short time I had the 100's playing with the 390, and yes they played well together, but didn't match up.
I couldn't do a side by side comparison with the two centers but once the 690 was up and running the front sound stage was incredibly well balanced compared to when I had the 390.

So technically any speaker will work, but I for one would rather have a matching center to my L&R's....

Yea, I hear ya. I mean, I don't have a large budget to play with and I found the CC-190 v.6 for $200 brand new in the box, 5-year warranty, etc. Im sure, at some point down the road in a few years from now perhaps I'll upgrade to larger paradigm's for my front - but as of now, I cannot because the receiver I have, the Onkyo TX-NR609 does not have a pre-out for an external amp to drive a pair of larger Paradigms. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go for the CC-190 in the mean time.

99.8% of the time I'm watching blu-ray movies. Very rare do I listen to just music. I am looking to replace my center channel with the Paradigm CC-190 v.6. Would those timber-match the Studio 20 v.2's just fine?

The rest of my 3.1 setup is in my signature. Thanks a bunch!
If you're on Facebook you can ask Paradigm directly which center will work best. They'll respond.

Unless you're in Canada, then http://www.canuckaudiomart.com would work best.

Audiogon is a great site to get used equipment from fellow audiophiles and their rating system helps you make the right seller choice too.

Not many Studio centres on Audiogon right now, seller in AB, CAN has a CC-570v3 for $500CDN - http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/detai...radigm_cc_570/

Monitor Series 7 is available in Black Ash and a new Heritage Cherry finish. Surrounds are in Black. Model lineup and estimated US FMV pricing for the series is as follows:

Atom Monitor: $199/ea
Mini Monitor: $279/ea
Monitor 7: $449/ea
Monitor 9: $599/ea
Monitor 11: $799/ea
Center 1: $379/ea
Center 3: $599/ea
Surround 1: $279/ea
Surround 3 $399/ea

according to the internet, these are built in china, its the first time Paradigm has done this.

Has anyone here auditioned the Cinema CT100 5.1 set? I'm sorely tempted by it, and it's close to my budget, but can't find many reviews on it, and NOBODY has compared them to their older brother, the CT110(which is slightly cheaper than the ct100 here). Hoping someone has heard both here

hey sak, GREAT pictures! But MAN is that CC-290 huge, I thought it would be smaller. I'm in the process of getting my CC-190 v.6 and hoping it can fit in my center channel spot or else I'm you know what..lol

I also have one more question. Depending on whatever I go with, would you suggest placing maybe the TV on top of the speaker? Would that affect sound quality, etc.? Speaker seems large enough to support it.

Just in case if it doesn't fit in my cabinet, thanks!

I don't think it would affect the sound quality, but I would be nervous about the weight on the speaker over time (in addition to scratching the speaker). I'd suggest contacting Paradigm to see if theres a recommended weight threshold (surely you're not the first to do this), and using a buffer between the speaker & tv stand to protect the finish.

Yea, I hear ya. Well, just a small update on my situation - I think I'm ultimately going to hold off on purchasing any center channel speaker for now. I'm getting numerous conflicting answers from both Paradigm and a few local dealers. Paradigm is telling me to use the Monitor Series 7 Center 1 speaker; another Paradigm rep is telling me to use the CC-290. Then the two local authorized dealers I'm talking too; one is recommending the CC-290 and the other is saying I should just upgrade all new speakers.

Very frustrating - especially being I live out in the middle of nowhere, Paradigm has numerous revisions on their products and getting the incorrect one can make a difference. I'm a very budget-conscience person and I want to get my money's worth and best bang for my buck.

What I plan on doing, is continue using what I have, then ultimately either sell what I'm using now and purchasing a whole new matching revision set of Paradigm's, or put the ones I'm using right now as my rear speakers and get all new matching revisions for my fronts. Ultimately...anything can happen.

Thank you all for your input and suggestions, but I do not feel comfortable making a purchase which can either sorely disappoint or break the bank.

Thank you!
