I see where your coming from dynamo. My bad I should have defined 2000 as a decade.

as for the last poster

Toshiba and HD-DVD honestly, visually and audio wise both are on par with each other I even give the edge to HD-DVD because of HDI and the ability to update the players with the latest firmware..something that only the PS3 is capable of doing right now for Blue.

My problem with Toshiba and HD-DVD is they did such a bad job of marketing the product ( or lack there of ). I mean all i ever heard was blue ray blue ray and blue ray.. on the net, my co-workers, at the electronic store at the water cooler ect...

It wasn't till i picked a HD-A3 ( got one at the beginning of the month for like 50 bucks ) that i actually stopped and said.. heck this is pretty decent player.

I have both the a blue ray ( ps3 ) and hd-dvd player and i purchased the hd-dvd player because of the movies available on it and not the format war.

I'll be glad when this war is over and i can purchase all my movies on blue ray ( or if a miracle happens HD-DVD).

Again cookies to Sony for a Marketing job well done.
